What customers are saying

4.4/5 - 89 Reviews

Read some helpful reviews of Northwest Self Storage at 62939 North Highway 97, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

?I strongly advise any individual or business owner to avoid this facility. As a business tenant, my experience with the facility manager, Rosa, has been unacceptable. Her conduct is unprofessional, discriminatory, and a massive liability to this company. ?Key Issues: ?Harassment of Staff: Despite the facility having posted business hours, Rosa frequently harasses my employees for being on-site "too long" while they are moving or organizing our inventory. We pay for access during business hours, yet she treats our presence as a violation. ?Medical Discrimination & Safety: On multiple occasions, Rosa has ordered my Type 1 Diabetic employee to leave the building while they were attempting to treat a low blood sugar episode. Telling a staff member they "cannot eat on the property" during a medical necessity is a dangerous health violation and shows a staggering lack of human decency. ?Unreasonable Restrictions: She consistently locks the restrooms during business hours and tells tenants to walk to a nearby gas station. She also prohibits water in the building and has been hostile and unfriendly from the very first interaction. ?Predatory Billing: The facility lures you in with low rates, then uses the month-to-month contract to hike prices by 30–45% almost immediately. Furthermore, we have been hit with late fees despite providing time-stamped proof of on-time payments. ?Unlawful Eviction Threats: Rosa frequently taunts tenants with "24-hour" evictions, which is a direct violation of the legal 7-day minimum requirement for such actions. ?This manager has been cited in numerous reviews for this exact behavior, yet the company fails to take action. Her lack of professionalism and disregard for tenant rights is a disgrace. I suggest you read every review available before signing a contract here. This is not a safe or professional environment for your business or your employees. ... Read more

Rosa, the manager gave me an immediate 24 hour eviction because my girlfriend ate a candy bar inside of my truck. I tried to explain to Rosa that she is type one diabetic and her blood sugar was dropping fast. She continued to yell at us. She's been more than rude every interaction my employees and I have had with her. I have three units and they have raised the rate $49 for each one every month and they still a treat you like dirt, also, you better hope Cheveron down the road is open. In the three months I was there the bathroom was never once open. Go to Trojan Storage down the road. Friendlier staff, functioning bathroom, cleaner place, way cheaper rates. ... Read more

?I rarely leave reviews, but after our recent experience with the manager, Rosa, I feel it is necessary to warn other business owners. My husband operates two local companies, and we currently rent over 10 units at this facility. Despite being high-volume tenants, we have been treated with a level of hostility that is frankly unacceptable in a professional environment. ?While my personal experience was a catalyst, it is by no means isolated. I have dealt with Rosa's unprofessionalism directly, but my employees have reported even worse treatment. Other tenants have also shared their own concerns regarding the management style here; I have strongly urged them to post their experiences publicly so the pattern of behavior is documented. ?Key Issues for Potential Tenants: ?Medical Neglect & Hostility: As a Type 1 diabetic, I experienced a low blood sugar episode and needed to eat immediately. When the manager approached, she bypassed all professional courtesy and began shouting, stating that eating on the premises was grounds for "immediate termination." Her total disregard for a medical necessity was dehumanizing. ?Retaliatory Business Practices: When we finally confronted her about this behavior and her treatment of our staff, she responded by issuing an "instant termination" of all our units. We are currently escalating this matter with corporate, as this is a clear case of retaliation against a long-term client for addressing legitimate grievances. ?Restroom Access: Management frequently locks the onsite restrooms during business hours--even for tenants with the access code--forcing people to walk a quarter-mile to find a facility. ?Lack of Presence & Pricing: Management is rarely available during posted hours, and without a fixed contract, we have seen rent hikes as high as 30%. ?A quick look at the negative reviews for this location confirms a consistent theme: Rosa is a significant liability to this business.Until management is replaced with someone with basic professional standards, I strongly advise you to take your business elsewhere. ... Very disappointed in the customer service at this property, in the first few months our rent jumped 45% and no clear contract as to why. The one manager fixed the issue and made it right which was super helpful but later on when he left and they hired this now current individual things have been never the same, my first interaction was me having to clean both elevator doors because someone had taken spit and drawn on the doors explicit material that had stay on for weeks following up to me having to clean it, I kindly told her that I cleaned it as I work within the cleaning industry and don't mind helping out, she immediately became offended that I cleaned it and became extremely defensive. I apologized for anything I may have said and left. After that it left a bitter taste in my mouth after watching homeless people defecate inside of their own unit in a trash bag in front of our unit and while also smoking weed. Keep in mind in the last two months of renting the bathrooms have been closed and every space especially the elevator smells like a barn. After this we were tired of our stuff smelling like weed and proceed to look elsewhere for our Storeage needs. Again checking out of our unit wasn't hard besides the attitude from the same woman. Overall I would highly recommend any other Storeage unit operation in Central Oregon than this place. ... Read more

The storage unit building is giant on the inside with crappy lighting and no kind of map or something to help you find your unit. They apparently require locks on each unit...that's fine. But I got an email about 24 hours to put a lock on the unit or they will charge me for the lock and a "mailing fee." And apparently you can only use a certain kind of lock that WASN'T disclosed with us in the email. So we went and bought a lock and had to buy another lock. My fiance went to pay for it and he just said he would bill it to us next month without asking first. I did not intend on keeping the storage unit for another month and was trying to avoid anything extra on the bill. And in the short time I had the unit , just right about 3 months so far, and they already raised the rent like $20. The need for a storage unit luckily was temporary but if I need a storage unit ever again, it's the very last on the list. ... Read more

Moved in during regular business hours on a weekday but no one was in the office for the hour I was there. One elevator was broken which made the move take longer. I was unable to buy a cylinder lock, which is the only way to secure the unit, because no one was there. They told me locks from other stores would not fit the unit. I returned the next morning to try to buy a lock and still, no one was there, even though it was during their business hours. Day two of all of my possessions being unlocked. I called the phone number and was connected to an Asian call center. Eventually, an employee from another location in Bend called me and told me I would have to drive to her location to buy a lock. I told her this was very inconvenient as I was in the middle of moving. A supervisor called me and told me I had to go to another location to buy a lock and if I didn't like that to move out. I went to the second location to buy the lock during the posted hours, shortly after speaking to the supervisor, but no one was there. This is where they told me to go to buy the lock. Now, it is day 3 of my unit being unlocked with all of my possessions inside. I am so stressed that I cannot sleep. The office is closed on Sundays and I am flying out of the area today. Not cool. Two stars for being a clean, new facility. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Northwest Self Storage - 62939 North Highway 97 has to offer. These amenities include Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by Northwest Self Storage - 62939 North Highway 97 can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 30 to 300 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

Storage units offered by Northwest Self Storage - 62939 North Highway 97 come at a variety of prices, starting from $108 per month for typically smaller units. However, larger spaces can set you back up to $513 a month.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
