If possible, I would give negative stars. The manager is a joke and when our property was damaged and we asked him about it, he blamed us and said it's not their problem. He acted completely unprofessional when asked a simple question. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. I'm so upset and disappointed. Shameful to treat a disabled veteran this way!! ?? ... Read more

Gates are supposed to be open until 8pm to access your storage. It is 630 and there is a note taped to the keypad saying it is malfunctioning, so access will be cut off at 4pm. I asked to be let in and was denied. I need to access my storage to get tools and parts to fix my bike (my only transportation), warm, dry shoes, socks, and a warm coat for tonight (52* w chance of rain), and personal items/toiletries for work tomorrow morning (@6am). This is messed up and WRONG. I pay good monies to this company and I should not be denied access to the personal property I need to have in order to be safe and warm tonight and ready for work tomorrow. I'm shivering in the cold with wet shoes and in a breezy short sleeved, loose knit sweater top, dragging a bike that's missing a pedal and has a non-functional brake. I should have ACCESS to VITAL lBELONGINGS needed to meet BASIC NEEDS! ... Read more

I searched around for a LOT of storage units before choosing Big Y. I was pleased to say that my stuff stayed dry, no mold, locked up tight. They charge a reasonable price, and the best part is that they have pretty good hours to access your things. The manager was friendly and communicated clearly, and the gate system was secure and easy to use. Thank you, Big Y! ... Read more

Stored with Big Y in the smallest space for 18 months. Paid ahead a year, then paid another year when we didn't end up moving back to Eugene. Now we have cleared everything out, and it's all dry, no mold, no damage at all! And we received a prompt refund via check for the months we paid ahead but are not storing! Great customer service, gates and facilities easy to use, good experience overall. Highly recommend! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Big Y Storage - 90 Highway 99 has to offer. These amenities include Climate-Controlled, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Enclosed and RV Storage. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
