~~~~Warning! Warning! Warning!~~~~ Do Not rent storage units from Lock N Store!! I am extremely upset with how this storage facility handled the auction of my unit 27B on 1-19-26 I fully acknowledge that the non-payment was my responsibility. However, after renting this unit for nearly three years and paying close to $4,500 in rental fees, I expected a reasonable and humane process. I was given a deadline date, which I understood—as most people would—to mean the end of that day. Instead, my unit was auctioned on the same day, with no additional grace period and no meaningful opportunity to resolve the issue once the deadline passed. What makes this situation unbearable is that my unit 27B contained the cremated remains (ashes) of my grandmother. I was given no opportunity to recover her ashes, no chance to intervene, and no way to contact the winning bidder of the auction. When I raised this with management, I was told there was nothing they could do to help recover her remains. Losing her the first time was hard enough, losing her the second time will forever haunt me. This was not just property. It was the last physical connection I had to my grandmother. The complete lack of compassion, flexibility, or effort to assist in recovering something so sacred has caused immense emotional harm. Policies may allow this, but the way it was handled was cold, rushed, and deeply insensitive—especially toward a long-term customer. I strongly urge anyone considering renting here to understand that once a deadline hits, there may be zero grace and zero compassion, regardless of circumstances or rental history. Go to U-Haul for your storage needs they will work with you if you get behind, unlike Lock N Store. ... Read more
To be fair, it is a no thrills unit. It was dry, my unit was never broken into not sure of others…. Biggest fail, No local person to reach, they want everything to be done online. And it is impossible to communicate that you have moved out of the unit early, and they continue to send late bills, fee’s for a unit that we moved out of and notified them of. ... Read more
I have the clean report from move out and deposit not returned. Nothing but run around. I provided cancelled check and contract from previous owner. Now they believe when you buy out a business that previous debt is unassigned. ... Read more
The storage unit ownership had changed approx. 10 months ago. Although buildings were painted, lot was paved and one security camera installed, many issues have caused concerns. These issues have been discussed numerous times with customer service and the owner as well.At first, we were valued as customers and now our concwrns apear to be a nuisance to the point that our rent has been raised 3 times in 1 year. Safety concerns include: *Snow mounds inhibiting the gate to pause halfway causing non- entrance or exit at times. *Snow over hang causing " avalanche" when door is opened. * Lot is not plowed or salted causing door blockage or ice rink. Not abe to access unit. Maintenance issues include: * Door lever will not close causing unit to be improperly locked. * Rubber stripping (to be replaced in summer 2024) has not been addressed. Most units have either damaged stripping or lack of. * Lack of stripping has caused water damage (power washing) and debri (paving/weather) in unit. * Particles from ceiling are found on items. *Doors on back side do not open. * Keypad at entrance does not always work. All issues have been reported numerous times. No response. Edit*: The response below is the first follow-up in 8 months. My rent has been increased yet no other unit has??? ... Read more
