After being told I’m unable to get a unit that is available because the manager isn’t in. I was told my name will be on that unit so that nobody else can get it. And to call back the next morning, if no one answers to call early afternoon. But was specifically told do not go in as they do not know when the manager would be in. I call the next morning and nobody answers. I left a voice message. I drive past on my way to work and didn’t stop in as I was specifically told not to. I call shortly after noon and have the manager answer. She tells me “ I have been in all morning and never got your call, I don’t have a note with your name or number on it, that unit sold this morning.” I don’t know what type of employee I talk to originally, so I don’t know who to blame. But with that said, I would not trust a company who lets just anyone work for them or at least answer their phones. It is very upsetting. ... Read more

I'm giving them a three-star review mostly due to price (very affordable) and friendliness. But I've taken away two stars because there doesn't seem to be set hours that the gates are open for renters to access their storage units. We were just told today (June 23, 2020) that their hours are 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. , Monday-Sunday... but my fiance and I have tried to access our storage unit three times in the last week within those hours, and this place was either closed or we were getting pushed out to leave because they were "closing up." Either a staff member is consistently skipping out early or their operating hours are NOT 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. Hoping the hours are more consistent soon--otherwise we will be looking for another facility. ... Was interested in renting a space for my car. The phone rang about 6 times and somebody said, "Hello." I had to ask if this was the storage facility. He confirmed it was. I asked how much for a 10 x 15 space and he told me the price. He asked when I might be coming. I said I wasn't even sure if I was coming because it was a bit far. He said they are open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. -- very inconvenient hours if you have to work. Told him likely if I came it would be on a Saturday. The entire conversation was strange. I called the following Saturday to see what I would need to do to get the garage. Same thing again the phone rang about 6 or 7 times, "Hello." Why not answer Salem Storage? Told him I had called 10 or so days ago and decided to bring my car over. He replied, "Not today, the manager is not in." I thought what this is Saturday, and nobody at the facility for new business. I said maybe I will come Monday if I can get a couple hours off for lunch. He said, "You can't do that you have to let us know you are coming." Ridiculous! He asked me for my number and said the manager would call me. Monday morning a women called who said she is the manager. Rude as hell! She told she had been holding a spot for me since last Saturday (a week before). Do you want it? She said very rudely. I gave it back to her and said, you weren't holding a spot for me as a told the person on the telephone I was calling to get a price and wasn't even sure I was coming because of the distance. The man I spoke with made it sound like they had many 10 x 15 spots. Finally, the manager said, without any apology and without any manners, "Do you want it or not?" I told her no. This facility is weird to say the least. Apparently they don't need the business either. ... Read more
