Alyssa is a fantastic manager of the Middletown location. ALWAYS pleasant, knowledgeable and accommodating. Don’t lose her! And today when I stopped in, Dustin helped me with a glitch with my app. I hope every time you raise the rates I hope you’re giving your staff a nice bump in salary! I can vouch they deserve it in Middletown! ... Read more

My first 2 month of renting was great. They did a price match on the unit which was a 10 x 10 climate controlled not hard or far to get to and for the price it was great.. My bill comes for this month and I got an email saying due to maintenance, The bill would be going from $90. (116 with tax) to now 208 (That’s not including the tax ) When I was told they price match (Which they did the 90$) and lock the price, I figured they meant the price wouldn’t change, especially the third month of having it..Having the price lock turned into being told that they don’t offer price locks, even though that was communicated to me over the phone during the initial process. It is clean, The units are nice, and I understand maintenance going up but almost a whole hundred dollars? With it only being my third month there. (when I was told price lock ) If I had the rate off of cleanliness accessibility, I would definitely give it a nine out of 10. If I’m rating off of overall experience and communication and pricing Definitely a two out of 10. ... Read more

The location and ease of access is great. The only problem I have is a big one. I’ve only paid for two months and I got an email that they reviewed my rate and they’re raising it. I now have to pay $50 more a month. So they hook you with a good rate, and once you’re settled, they jack it up. ... Read more

I needed a storage unit because of a run of lousy luck, so I wasn’t in a good place when I started looking for one. The first two places were too expensive and didn’t give me a good vibe. Then I came here and Alyssa, the woman who runs the place, was so nice and helpful to me that it really changed my outlook. She helped me understand that I wasn’t the only one going through the same problems. I left with my new storage unit and a new friend. ... Read more

I have been using prime storage since Oct. 2024 (4 months). The month after using their service I was notified they were going to increase my storage price by 50%. I thought this weird since I only started renting a month ago. They were nice about it and said they would not raise my fee because I literally just became a member and were understanding. Now, 3 months go by and I am notified that they are raising my rent again. I think it is quite ridiculous that they would raise the price of a unit 2 times in 3 months. I was told by their customer service rep that a price increases every 3-9 months is normal for them. The price increases are about 50% of your initial in the door cost. Their contract states they can raise the rent price on you at any given time. If you'd like your storage price increased multiple times a year this is the place for you. I'd look into a storage facility with annual locked in rates for next time. ... Read more

We had a positive experience with Prime Storage - with reserving a unit online, and at a good monthly price. However, over the 10 months we rented our unit, our monthly price increased twice, almost doubling our initial one. I inquired about the rate increase and was told it was necessary and written in their policies to do so. There was no offer to compromise with the two rate increases in less than a year. I suppose, in this case, money is more important than customer service. We decided to move to another storage facility (family-owned), at a lower price that is guaranteed for at least one year. ... I was super pleased with the entire rental process. Finding what I needed was quick and painless when using the online platform. I needed to call to confirm some questions and the 2 representatives were very professional and efficient. Being able to transact contracts and payments electronically is a great feature. The storage unit is exactly what I was looking for. I'd highly recommend Prime Storage. ... Read more

This is the first review I have ever done. They really need to work on their customer experience. Had multiple issues with them to which they admitted wrong doing. They were friendly on the phone but have not acted on anything brought up to make things right. Getting notifications to rate them 5 stars is insulting at this point. ... Read more

My significant other and I have a unit here. The managers in the office are always so nice and helpful, specifically Joe and Alyssa. They always offer to help us or just to give us water. The little details certainly matter. The property is always clean and this is definitely the best storage place in the area. Highly recommend storing here! And bonus is that it is such a beautiful property!! ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
