DO NOT RENT A STORAGE UNIT HERE!!! I rented out 2 units, 1 indoor and 1 outdoor each year since they first opened up a this will be my LAST year coming here. When you first sign up for a unit they make everything sound great; until the next 1-2 months they jack up the prices for BOTH units and their lame excuse is “we go by the market price of storage units” so in other words you can jack up the price to whatever and whenever?? And automatically charge peoples cards without consent?? I moved out of 1 unit BEFORE my move out date and still got charged for it!! Not to mention my indoor unit was FULL OF RAT DROPPINGS!!! HAD TO LEAVE ALL MY STORAGE BLANKETS AND TOWELS THERE DUE TO A HEALTH HAZARD! Called for a week straight 2x a day trying to get in touch with the “manager” that is non existent to get my money back and still haven’t gotten a call back 2 weeks later. Never heard of a business like this NOT caring at all about a RAT problem.. not to mention every time I called I told them to take my card off file and they said “yes we did” more than 5 times on different occasions and I was STILL charged! This place and owner is a SCAM! If you do for some reason getting a unit here be prepared for RAT DROPPINGS, price gouges, horrible customer service, no climate control etc.. I suggest paying CASH ONLY for each of your payments because they will continue to keep charging your card on file even after you move out properly. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB! Manager is a straight ?? and will only reply back to your phone call if you are trying to leave the unit so he can keep collecting money from you.. ... Read more

I’ve been renting a unit here for about a year, always paying on time and following all policies. During that time, my monthly rate increased drastically and I was never properly notified of these changes. Finding out through my bill instead of receiving advance written notice is frustrating and feels very unprofessional. Price increases may happen, but customers deserve transparency and clear communication before being charged more. I’ve tried to reached out to management for an explanation and resolution and of course it is impossible to get into contact with anyone in the office. Until this is addressed, I would advise potential customers to carefully review their agreements and monitor their billing closely. ... Read more

Kim at the front desk is amazing. Very thorough and thoughtful about renting and how it works. She also, keeps the place clean and organized. Very helpful with calling and letting us know when the elevator would be operational after it being down one day. Great employee and I pray and hope she receives the due honor for her work and efforts!!! ... Read more

Will never do business with this company/ location ever again! WARNING FOR A LONG POST AHEAD…I am frequent auction buyer, so I deal with public storage ALOT! I won a unit at this location just a couple days ago and and dealt with the rudest manager, Kim! Super unprofessional and lacks basic customer service skills. I won a unit on a Friday and had 48 hours to have it cleared out. I got call from Kim saying I couldn’t go there Friday to pay for the unit, that I had to wait until Saturday the next day and that I had to be there between 10-12pm. She told me I would have until Monday to clean the unit out. Showed up the next day at 10am and no one was in the office until 11am. Did my paperwork and told me I only had until Sunday 9pm to clear out the unit. I looked at her and said you told me over the phone that I would have till And she proceeded to tell me no I never said that when her coworker looked at her and said yes you did, You told her she Had until Monday. She really proceeded to say that she never said that. I said to her that it wasn’t my fault that you wouldn’t allow me to come Pay for the unit that would have given me the 48 hours to clear it out And that if I could please get a little extra time and she told me no. I left the office upset and proceeded To head to the storage unit. I was reading my paperwork and she, in fact wrote down That I had until Monday. I Receive a phone Call Sunday morning, asking if I had cleared out the unit yet A couch and a bag in it. I said to her that I still had until 9 PM like you said in the office. I also mentioned to her about how she originally told me I had until Monday to clear it out In the office, she told me I only had until 9 PM Sunday when she did write on the paper That I did have until Monday. She rudely said to me that she would give me until Morning to have it cleared out, followed with “ When I come into work at 9:30 AM, I expect to see that unit cleared out” Talking to me like I’m a child. I will never ever ever do business with Public Storage again. They have lost a frequent customer because or YOUR manager KIM! ... Read more

This morning, I spoke with Kim a staff person at Public Storage in Cranston, RI, where I rent a storage space. She listened attentively to my questions about certain charges and said she would get back after she spoke with her regional director. And at mid-afternoon she called me back with good news: she got permission to drop certain fees and in addition will not raise my rent for six months starting May 1st. Kim is an asset to her company and I am extremely thankful for her assistance. She is an asset to Public Storage. I highly recommend this company to anyone who needs to store any items they may have. I’m a real person, not a bot, not affiliated with Public Storage in any way-- just a longtime customer who’s genuinely grateful for the consistent experience they've provided. My family and I have multiple units with Public Storage and have trusted them for years with our most important belongings. The facility is always clean, climate controlled, and secure, and we've never had to deal with rodent infestations, water damage, or shady activity. The staff is friendly, respectful, and responsive- - not just once, but every single time. That kind of reliability and professionalism goes a long way. I say this with a bit of battle-won perspective, because a while back, I made the mistake of trying out a nearby competitor on Narragansett Avenue in Providence, and frankly, it was one of the worst decisions I've ever made. At the nearby competitor, I dealt with rodent damage, hostile staff, and a management team that seemed more interested in intimidation than customer service. There are even Wall Street Journal articles suggesting that the company is under federal investigation, which honestly wouldn’t surprise me given how they operate. It was a mess, and I regret ever moving my things there. When I did close that unit, only about 10% of my items were in a salvageable condition. Public Storage, on the other hand, has earned my full trust — and this is a genuine review from a real person, not some paid shill or AI-generated nonsense. If you want peace of mind and a facility that actually takes care of your belongings, Public Storage is the one to choose. To put it another way, it is of Prime Importance that you store your important family treasures in a trustworthy facility like Public Storage - no federal investigation, no belligerence, and no rodents here! I stake my reputation on it! ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
