As a business owner I rarely leave a bad review because I sure hate when someone leaves them for me. Our office, Chapin Pediatrics, has rented with this company for over a decade. I mentioned to a friend last week that our monthly rate was being increased to around $400 which to me was absurd. He told me he just got in to same size unit with them for less than half of that. I called and their representative said yes they have been going up on us anywhere from about $20-50 every 6 months. I was told that they mailed a postcard notification for every increase. The first time we received a postcard notification was in the past 2 weeks which prompted my concerns. The continued fee increases without notification seems convenient for them since our payment was set up on autopayment. We had no issues with the facility. Have never had any concerns except the gate seems to stay broken and therefore anyone can gain entrance. Have never had any moisture or flooding issues. I am just shocked and frustrated that they would seek to take advantage of longtime customers by charging them more than double what they rent to new customers. So consumer beware of their unscrupulous business practices and watch your payments if set up on autopay. ... Read more

Storage Mafia. Our unit started at $86 a month. Continuously raised the rates. When we got the notice that the rate was increasing again to $290, it was time to pack up. The "security" gates are Usually not operational and left in the up "open" position. And other holes in the gate were not attended to. Also when we were emptying our unit we noticed EVERYTHING was covered in mold. Apparently the unit flooded at some point in time. Had to throw away a $4000 sofa and spent multiple DAYS cleaning all the mold off our antique furniture. I will be adding photos shortly. We moved out at the beginning of the month . Then was told that the monthly rate when leaving is NOT pro-rated. So we had to pay the entire month for few days in the unit and they would not be issuing a refund. Picture of broken gate is from Google A YEAR AGO, and is still broken today. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.

To open your storage unit door, start by unlocking it, whether it uses a traditional padlock or a Bluetooth-enabled smart lock. Once unlocked, grab the bottom handle and lift or pull up the roll-up door until it’s fully open.

If you’re using the unit for the first time, make sure the lock is properly removed before opening the door to avoid damage.

Security helps protect your belongings while they’re in storage and gives you peace of mind between visits. Many self storage facilities use a combination of features such as video surveillance, gated access, on-site management, and well-lit premises to help deter unauthorized access.

At Storage Rentals of America - 320 Amicks Ferry Road, available security amenities may include Security Camera, Gate, designed to help keep your items protected.

Yes, most standard vehicles can be stored in self storage units. A 10x20 unit typically provides enough space for a car, while outdoor or designated parking areas may be available for larger vehicles.

For safety reasons, most self storage facilities restrict certain items. These commonly include:

    • Hazardous, flammable, or toxic materials
    • Perishable food
    • Live plants or animals
    • Cash, firearms, or irreplaceable valuables

Always check with the facility at 320 Amicks Ferry Road for specific restrictions and recommendations.
