I am actively looking for a mom-and-pop self-storage business to support rather than CubeSmart. The employees at this location are friendly and keep the facility super clean (Sara has been especially helpful!), but when something goes wrong outside of business hours, it's really difficult to figure out what to do. The CubeSmart website is a corporate black hole without clear instructions on who to notify in case of an "emergency" (outside of calling 9-11). Both elevators were out on new year's day: one had an out-of-order sign on it, while the other didn't, suggesting that it had gone out over the holiday. It was frustrating to not be able to get to my second-floor unit, especially since I had a friend who'd traveled two hours to get something from it. When I went looking for a door or stair to get to the second floor, I found that the two doors leading from the exterior of the building to the second floor were WIDE OPEN. The building literally had no security. I also discovered that there was no way (from inside or out) to get to my second floor unit if both elevators are out, which I hadn't realized because I'm always using the elevators to move my stuff. I wrote an email to CubeSmart customer service and still have received no reply. I left a message for the employees, but figured that it went straight to their voicemail in the office and wouldn't be heard until the next business day (which is understandable). I could not figure out from CubeSmart website how to alert the company that the building was compromised. There has to be something in between calling 9-11 and waiting until the office opens when the building is wide open. The opportunity for things to go wrong here without anyone knowing -- or for me to even be able to reach my unit if both elevators are out! -- is too high for me to pay the very high rates, which have risen multiple times since I first rented this unit about a year ago. I'm sure there are local spots where not only can I meet the owner, but that the rates are cheaper! ... Read more

The site is prominently visible on Wade Hampton Boulevard and easily accessible. The clean site along with your efficient, professional, informative associates (male & female) gave me the assurance that I’m leaving my belongings in capable hands. The pictures on the website don’t lie: it’s is identical to what I saw in person. Clearly the location is well maintained.
