Read some helpful reviews of Heritage Mini Storage at 199 Riley Road, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

If you rent from them do not rent on the old College St one. There were multiple break in's and the owner offers no compensation. There are also no working cameras at any of them. Also, they say you go to auction when you are 3 months behind in rent. It's actually 2 months. Store your stuff at your own risk because the owners do not fix anything or pay back for items stolen or damaged. ... Read more

You know, this isn't an awful place, and my stuff was safe enough with a lock on it, but I wouldn't never put anything here in storage that I actually cared about. It's cheap which made it worth it, but their hours were weird, and I never got notified I was late on a payment, and they put a lock on my unit, and after I paid it, they didn't take it off until I called to let them know... Which then I was put on a list so they took it off when they chose to do that. Which I guess I understand, but I had no idea it was even on there. Anyways, it was convenient and that's all that mattered to me at the time. But I wasn't staying there long ... Read more

Great facility! They offer units of many different sizes to meet whatever your needs may be. The prices are very reasonable, especially for somewhere that is climate-controlled. My unit was very clean when I moved my belongings in and I have never seen any evidence of bugs or other pests. They keep the temperature well-regulated to protect my belongings from the SC heat and humidity. The facility is well-lit so I have always felt safe if I needed to stop by after dark. The office staff is friendly and easy to work with. I would highly recommend this facility. ... Read more

Had a storage unit there it got broken into stole $8,000 worth of materials and didn't get but $2,000 back not even half of what i lost. Called the lady that works there she didn't sound concern or anything just stating we are not responsible for things being lost or stolen. Yes they are we got a gated storage unit there with cameras and there is nothing no one can do. Will never use this storage company again. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Heritage Mini Storage - 199 Riley Road has to offer. These amenities include Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Enclosed, Online Payment and RV Storage. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
