This is not the place to have your storage, there was leaks all in the storage and destroyed the vanity we owned of 3 generations. (Around 200 years old) we would rather ruin our stuff then pay 200 a month for it to be ruined. ... Read more

I have purchased an auction from them on a number of occasions. First and foremost, I have been purchasing auctions for years, including this location, before the business named has changed to what it is now and have not had the problems I am about to lay out. It is very evident that they have already gone through the sheds that they auction off. All auctions I have purchased from this location and every other location in Amarillo are all very consistent: all the clothes, including socks, are pulled inside out with most the pockets hanging out, the furniture always has their handles and knobs replaced with something other than it’s original and all the screws and nails holding the handles and knobs into the furniture are not fully tight ever, everything is out of order, meaning it takes time to find piece things back together. Usually if there is anything nice, there is something wrong with it. They put jewelry scattered all over the shed, generally in areas, where it would be difficult to find. Very little gold and silver is left, if any. Electric items such as flashlights are pulled apart with the batteries scattered everywhere. All picture frames have been pulled apart. This is not just the recent auction that the complaints I have listed have happened. These are consistent with every auction that I have purchased from them. So they basically look in almost everything for valuables, and take the things of value and scatter out what is left. I have notified the authorities and fortunately come from a family full of attorneys to see exactly what the laws are that involve the auctions of a storage shed. Not to mention, that they have business hours posted on their front door and the internet stating that they are open, while I have been waiting for someone to show up so I can get my cleaning deposit back, which I am still waiting for. If you plan on purchasing a storage auction, I would heavily recommend staying away from any Self Secure Storage in Amarillo, TX. Hopefully they will reach out soon to get my deposit back since I just cleared out the left over junk they left for the auction I just purchased. ... Read more

I was selling my house and needed a place to put my things while I looked for a house in another state. I like the fact that I was able to do everything online, move in, store, keeping my items safe, and return two months later to retrieve my things. The front desk was helpful when I needed them. ... Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
