Just want to save you some time. The 1st month's rental fee is not just $1, there is a one time admin fee of $29. There is also a fee to purchase the lock, which is $19. If you bring your own lock (small circular cylinder type) you can get a refund which takes 5 to 7 business days. You will have to get insurance for your belongings through a company they use for $15, but the first 30 days are free, and you can switch the insurance to one you prefer at no cost within the first 30 days. I spent around $52 for a 10x10 which is not a bad price, but I hate false advertising and hidden fees. Good luck ... Read more

I’ve been renting a storage unit here for a while now, and there have been several different managers. However, Daytree is the best manager this Public Storage location has ever had. She’s not just friendly and helpful but also very professional. I’d definitely recommend this place for your storage needs. ... Read more

As a customer service specialist with 20+ years of experience it is most important to me the tone and overall communication when being assisted. After speaking with Treille immediately calling me per request, her tone was kind, respectful & overall very pleasant. She seemed more than happy to help assist me anyway I needed. Upon arrival I was fortunate enough to be greeted by Colin, who went above and beyond making me feel like this was the best decision. He made me feel safe & at ease, it made my day completely being in their hands. I feel beyond thankful and emotionally for the diversity empowerment that works at this location. It is not everyday I am assisted by individuals who understand me and my needs, let alone with exceptional customer service. Thank you so much Colin for all your time and energy getting me set up, it really makes a difference. You make a wonderful impact and a great impression with your kindness. ... Read more

Hello, I hope this message finds you well. My name is Mohsen. I am a former customer, and my unit number was 3089. I rented a unit on July 7, 2024, and was given a lock, which was charged to my Wells Fargo bank account. I informed the staff that I already had my own lock and was told I would receive a refund by check within two or three months. The receipt number for that transaction is 1355679756 (on 07/07/2024). After about two months, I discovered that someone had changed the lock on my unit without my knowledge. When I asked to have it removed, I was told I needed to purchase a new lock because once the old lock was taken off, a new one had to be installed. I agreed and paid for another lock with my American Express card on September 25, 2024 (receipt number 1370847088). However, when the existing lock was cut, I noticed that some of the belongings were missing. I decided to return the unit (and the new lock) on September 29, 2024, and I was reimbursed for the second lock on my American Express card (receipt number 1371259537). I repeatedly contacted customer service about the refund for the first lock and was told I needed to visit the location in person. Once there, I was asked to call (818) 244-808, but no one answered, despite my long wait on hold. After several months of following up, today I was informed that because more than 30 days had passed, it was no longer possible to process a refund for the first lock. However, I was told multiple times to keep waiting for a check, and that it could take several months. If you provide me with an email address, I can send all my documentation as proof. Thank you for reviewing this issue. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer in resolving it. If you need any additional information, please let me know. Thank you! Update: I received the cheque for the lock refund in March 2025. Thank you very much! Now I’m happy.?? ... Read more

This public storage is always very helpful and informative. Even when I get frustrated with something that’s out of their control and I enter the office as a Karen. The staff is patient and listen to my concerns and always find a solution to the problem. The main problem was there were no carts available because people kept stealing them. They got two more and I noticed today they were microchipped!!! ???? Although more than two are needed for this location it’s a great start. Please get a few more from corporate. I appreciate the staff so much. They even let me know that I had left my unit open and to go fix it!!! Great customer service! ... Read more

I had a complicated move from a 10x10 unit to a 5x5 unit, and the staff at Public Storage made it so much easier. The front desk team that day was extremely helpful, courteous, and made a potentially stressful day pleasant. Moving is never easy, but this team truly helped make the experience more enjoyable. Thank you for the excellent service! Move Date: 1/27/25 | Check In Time: 11 AM CT (about) ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Public Storage - 3008 West Division Street has to offer. These amenities include Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Kiosk Available, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
