The facility is very clean and it's easy to access. What i don't like is how often the prices increase and how people that have been there for awhile don't get included into the rates that are so much lower. I was told I could move my stuff to a new 'discounted' unit to get the sale but could not keep my stuff in my current unit to get the sale. This is just irritating. I recently moved my storage items from Boise Idaho to College Station. The Storage King facility is very conveniently located for me. It is clean and well maintained. I have a climate controlled unit which I have been very pleased with. I have a 10x10 unit which offers plenty of room. The gate access hours are posted on the gate so there is no guessing when the gate will be locked at night. Management are usually present and available if I need assistance. After reading reviews about rent increase I wonder if increases are for individual units and not all units at once. ... Read more

This is the WORST experience I've ever had. Getting the storage unit online took forever as it kept timing out and canceling the transaction. The manager said we could come look at it before we buy it, my Roomate tried to go and the lady at the front office rudely denied her from seeing it. We reserved a 10x10 with AC just to come onsite and it not be an AC unit and it had a lock on it. Front office was closed. I called beforehand, told them when we were coming, all she said was we need an access code, she didn't mention anything about needing a key to unlock our storage unit. We are currently locked out in the heat with all of our stuff wanting a refund for this mess and poor quality business. Why does it say online they are open on Monday's if THEY ARE NOT OPEN!! They have wasted our time and our money. I will never be coming back to this unorganized and rude business. --Avoid this place at all cost if you don't want a horrible moving experience. ---Since they only have one general call system, and no one answering for this specific location they don't have specific location instructions and it's just a loop of misinformation. ... After less than 3 months of renting with Storage King, I get an email that they are increasing the rent of $54/month to $91/month come July 1. When I inquired about the significant increase and short time frame of me renting from them, I was given the response it is in the agreement with Storage King that they can increase at anytime. Then they asked me for a review. If you rent here, recommend you ask them up front, how long is the price for and what they estimate the increase to be. Very disappointed. ** DISCLAIMER: I having been renting a storage unit for approximately 2 years in College Station, so I have no other opinions for other franchises. I am happy that the majority of renters who provided reviews had positive experiences. Being a business owner myself for a large company, I believe, customer service is paramount and I still believe in the old adage, that the customer is always right. Having said this, the only positive thing I can say regarding this company is that the storage unit is close to my residence, which makes it very convenient. Nonetheless, if I could rate it below a one star I would. I can relate to the number of renters who have had negative experiences. Since I have been a renter, this location has changed management at least 3 times, which should be a red flag for anyone. When I have attempted to contact the local number, (which is not local at all - by design), I am connected to the main office and they are not helpful in the least. When I have attempted to personally go to the location, there is no one ever there. The last several managers have been rude, condescending and entitled. For no apparent reason my rent has increased several times over the last year with no discernible explanation except for a generic email that says nothing. Inflation and increases in operating costs is not a legitimate excuse in my experience. If the (owner) really valued opinions of their customers, then they should provide their name and direct contact number to express their concerns. Less than that is unhelpful and disingenuous. ... I would highly recommend looking elsewhere before giving this company any of your money. I’ve been a customer at this location for several years. The previous owners and onsite employees of the property (Crossroads) were top notch. The new owners are here to keep taking more and more money from you. They will lure you in with the lowest rates in town if you book online. After that, they will raise your rates by sometimes 50% every three months and easily double and almost triple your rent after a year. I downsized my unit to save money and was paying more for 1/3 of the size after 9 months. I called the local office to see how I can get the new customer price of $48 per month when I’ve been a loyal customer currently paying over $100 per month for the exact same sized unit. I was told that I would have to go online and create a new account and the system would assign me a new unit. Basically, I would have to start all over and move out of my current unit into a new one. I honestly feel that this is a scam and is not a way to treat your customers. They feel that it’s ok to go up on their customers quarterly because the customers don’t want to spend the time and energy to move units again! I started paperwork to rent a unit online and during the lease signing the website kicked me out so I had to redo everything over. Once I purchased the unit 3 days later I received an email stating I purchased 2 units. I called the office to figure out what I need to do to get refund and inform them I only needed one unit. An employee named Jacklyn answered the phone and when I told her the situation she immediately started being rude and acting annoyed. She was conversating with another woman that was the office manager by the name Stephanie. They both were rude and unwilling to refund my money. Stephanie kept repeating she wasn't going to refund the whole amount because it was my fault. I told them both that it was you guys website that kicked me out.
