Read some helpful reviews of Blue Sky Self Storage, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

When I first rented my storage unit (5x10) in May 2023, the rate was $49/month. Just two years later, that same unit has jumped to $83/month—a 70% increase. On top of that, they’ve slipped in constant new fees, late charges, and now a lease amendment that adds even more hidden costs (like $15–$25 late fees, $30 lock removal fees, $100 cleaning minimums, etc.). Trying to get help is impossible. No one at the local office answers the phone or returns emails. You’re left with charges piling up and zero customer service. The receipt trail makes it clear: late fees, add-on charges, and constant rent hikes are how they operate. This place started off affordable, but it’s turned into a rip-off with predatory pricing and no accountability. If you’re considering renting here—think twice. ... Read more

Me and my family have been using this storage facility for years. It has been great but recently... The AIR CONDITIONING has been out for a long time. The managers said they are doing all they can to get it fixed but it sounds like they're just giving us the runaround. I WOULD NOT recommend this facility, nor take down this review until it gets fixed since they are supposed to be a temperature controlled storage facility. ... Read more

4/18/25- I just finished having a very unpleasant and extremely dissatisfactory conversation with April the supervisor for this location. After I made my payment with her over the phone she advised me that the unit account set up needed to be transferred over to another person due to the initial person that signed up for advise they will no longer be associated with the unit. I let her know that was correct and provided her with background to the situation when the unit was initially purchased it was purchased online due to the office being closed and we needed it ASAP then moved the things into the unit so wanted to know what did needed to do to get that unit transferred over to me instead. Her response “Well it is the job of the consumer right to check our office hours before to see if we’re opened. But I’ll send the link so the account can get transferred”. My commentary about the office not being opened on the day of purchased was not to be perceived personal nor in a negative context it was genuinely out of conversation and provide light to the situation and how it transpired. When it was purchased we were contacted back about the promotion we signed up for online was no longer valid and it was to be taken down though, a difference was owed. And it was paid for and handled. What I didn’t appreciate was Aprils passive aggressive sarcastic commentary nor how she handled the first call with me and talking over me then hanging up after I asked for her name. I did initate a call back and she finally answered and instantly April became combative with me. When I asked for her name she provided it to me (this call was recorded) and gave me an explanation that I was the one that wasn’t letting her talk and turning it around on me that I was being combative. I refused to entertain the back and fourth with April and geared the conversation to solution options for my dissatisfaction with her handling of the call was told “will pass it over to my supervisor and he will get back to you” but April had not taken down my information previously so how will “my information” be passed along? Checked with April about my information and again she reverted back to placing the blame on me for not being able to obtain it which couldn’t be further from the truth. But I allowed her to get what she needed off her chest and geared the conversation back where it needed to be. Hopefully I’m contacted by the manager about the above encounter with April cause I would hate for any other customers to encounter the passive aggressive comments by this supervisor as I’m sure I’m not the only one that she’s made that comment to as she felt very comfortable in including it in her scripting. As a consumer I check office hours and when they are opened I call and always get a busy signal. But as “consumers” it’s our responsibility to check hours but when no call is answered or a return call is completed where is the responsibility/ accountability? ... Read more

I have been renting a unit for almost 2 years. Every 6 months I have received an increase on rental fee. Obviously, it does not matter to the company that I am a loyal paying on time customer. I do not a have any issues with the office staff, they have always been very professional when I have had any questions. However, raising the rent every 6 months is RIDICULOUS! Take care of your Loyal customers, we are paying for your salaries. ... Read more

I had to quickly move everything from my apartment so Blue Sky had the most accessible hours for me. It was easy to call and ask for availability. Once I visited I saw how secure it was, especially for climate controlled units. It also has good discounts for prices. It does require insurance, which you can use what they offer or use your own renters insurance. All I did was send my declaration page from email and it was easy to set up. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
