This place is garbage they have damage most of my things and is NOT NOT climate control they have me old andice and refuse to take responsibility for damage. They make you pay for insurance that covers absolutely nothing. They change property managers monthly and the new ones have lack of knowledge. If I could give zero starts or negatives they would get -100. There's no one to complain to and they do not return calls. I hate I even have to pay them..I am looking to move asap...please please please don't take your valuables to this facility or any free up storage for that matter. The way they operate business is unprofessional...lawsuit pending ... Read more

Ridgmar is currently undergoing a remodel due to prior management neglect of the facility from the original owner. There are two wonderful young ladies working the front desk, relocating the tenants from the top level to the bottom level of the facility. Customers need to understand that even though they are the face of the company they are not the ones that make upper management level decisions on what takes place at the location. I came in yesterday with my parents to discuss their access options due to the remodel and witnessed a man and his parents continuously accusing the staff of a situation they had nothing to do with. The gentleman, who is a current customer continuously attacked verbally and belittled these ladies due to a situation completely out of their control. And sadly also witnessed discrimination by this man and his young son. Customers need to understand that certain situations are out of everybody's control but these two young ladies were very professional and held their composure while this man continuously berated them and treated them horribly. I applaud both young ladies and also feel sorry for them that they were put in the situation of having to deal with this situation with very little notice to the customers. They are dealing with a high level of stress and on top of that doing it all inside a building that has zero heat and does not get above 50° inside the building. I do hope upper management sees the two employees they have at this location and appreciates them, and hopefully rewards them for their hard work and dedication while dealing with the remodel and the high levels of stress that it brings and the toll that it's taking on these two young ladies. But most of all shame on that customer for treating them the way they did yesterday and talking down to them while belittling them. ... Read more

MOLD MOLD MOLD Multiple ownership changes, operations nonexistent, can’t gain access, “closed due to renovations”, NO CARTS, only one (if any) access doors, only one (if any) elevators and they are sketch, air conditioning has gone out a few times, the smell of this place is bad (ruined thousands of dollars of my possessions). As of 2/2025 they are still a disaster dealing with mismanagement, mold, non access to paying customers, NO carts, and holding no accountability (they will often times say it’s due to previous ownership, however they themselves are a previous owner as it’s flip flopped). **Their mold issues are due to a leak/flood that their company does not insure. You have to pay for their insurance or use your own. Ruined much of my property in 2024/2025 ... Read more

If I could give no stars I would. In November we came to get something out of our storage and our lock was broken, there was no body in the office, so we had to get a makeshift lock from Walmart, since we didn’t want to leave our door unlocked. We tried calling for days and emailing, since they have changed management 4 times since we signed up there, but we got no answer. We came back today, early because we finally had a day off from work, and come to find out the lock we had bought from Walmart had been broken and our items had been stolen after months of not being able to get in contact with anyone. We lost almost everything valuable and antiques given to me by my grandmother. We will be moving out next week and NEVER doing business with a storage or Free Up again. There is no safety and security like they advertise. DONT RENT A STORAGE HERE! ... Read more

I’ve been at this location since 2020 and it has gone completely downhill. Today, arrived to put away Christmas Decorations and am completely locked out of the entire building…even though my bill is auto paid every month. Unacceptable by all accounts. Even more frustrating is there is literally no way of contacting anyone! Office hours have been adjusted to Tuesday-Sat 9-5. ... Read more

The employee at the front desk named Crystal is in need of some serious customer service training. She seemed to forget the fact that the customers are what keep you in business, put a paycheck in your pocket, and are the most important part of the conversation. She immediately seemed disturbed by my presence and got mad at me for asking why they cut my lock on my storage unit and replaced it with their own. They never notified me and it's illegal to cut the customers lock. I received a notification that there was someone in my storage unit and I couldn't get ahold of anyone at the storage location. Everytime I tried to call the location, some random person picks up the phone. It's like my number is being routed to another number. The staff member said they have an answering service that takes calls if they aren't available. But the "answering service" picked up on the first ring. It always does. Also, the staff member told me that I could just text back the automated texts they send me and she would call me back. But the automated service isn't designed like that. You can't text it back. She was very rude and acted like I needed to be professional towards her. Lol. However, she sent me a text on the automated number apologizing for changing my lock to their lock. I'm trying to get caught up on my payment. My family is going through hardship right now. That's all I wanted to tell them. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.

Yes, most standard vehicles can be stored in self storage units. A 10x20 unit typically provides enough space for a car, while outdoor or designated parking areas may be available for larger vehicles.
