Read some helpful reviews of 10 Federal Self Storage, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

They are contradicting liars. They state on their webpage that they offer"controlled air units." It's stated that it's safe to store medications that need to be air controlled, that pictures and furniture can be stored safely without the concern of damaging temperatures. I had found out over 2 months time, and several visits later, that the facility allows the "air," to be controlled at "cool, 80.°" Ummmm.... Cool is NOT 80°. I had to get rid of some of my items due to the heat in the large facility. The times I had gone, the thermostat read above 85.° So..... Don't store stuff in there unless your ok with storing stuff in above 80° temperatures. Ridiculous beyond all measure! ... Read more

Very nice facility, overall clean and neat. We did see some bugs, all of them dead. I couldn't get the outside door to close when I left, it seemed stuck open. This is the only place I have rented that doesn't provide courtesy carts for customers to use in loading/unloading, that's the main reason for only 4 stars. ... Read more

Reserved a storage unit online. Showed up with my uhaul on Saturday morning at 6:30am and the gate code they gave me doesn’t work. Now I have to sit around for 4 hours while I wait for their office to open. Thanks! ... Read more

Went to get something out of our unit on Saturday. The area was dirty with discarded belongings and broken glass. Rodent droppings on the ground in and around the units. Door and gate NOT secure. Tried calling today, never was able to get a hold of anyone. Stayed on hold for an hour and a half. Was never called back after requesting call back at the number we called from. Tried the Online agent. That didn't work either. Very unhappy customer since 10 federal storage took over. Also, we are being charged twice as much as what it states online. Realized that while we were trying to contact the company. See the pictures attached of the trash and broken glass, broken door, bugs, and rodent droppings in the facility Edit: the response from owner says to contact them. We have tried. Multiple times. Maybe answer the phones or respond to the previous emails we have sent? ... Read more

Oct. 2024: The lock on my unit was not the one assigned so the code that I was given did not work and could not get into my unit. I attempted to call from the site but could not get anyone. Once home I called back and was on hold for about 20 minutes, so I hung up. I could not get any answers on Chat on the website (it said no customer service members were available and it just kept sending me the same lock code...which did not work in the first place). I then attempted to email support, complete with photos of the wrong lock on my unit; it's been 12 hours and no response. Also, the phone message has a different email address than ALL my paperwork. Info is wrong on the website (says phone support is "open" when it's not). Good thing I only brought a few items the first trip as a trial run and not a U-haul full!! So far, not a good experience. Do not like that there is no one at the "office" on site or anyone remote immediately available to help trouble shoot these issues. *Update: after my initial review for which I gave one-star, a regional manager did reach out via email and I was able to get the correct combo for the lock. Everything else with the facility/unit has been as expected so I edited my review to 4-stars. However, I didn't ever receive any response, call or email, from support. *Update July 2025: Buyer beware!! I was not happy with my overall experience here for several reasons: Not a manned site as I stated in my previous review and there was several instances of "dumping" that occurred during my 10 months there (which I also contacted the regional manager via email about with photos); instance with lock and customer service (see post above); my rate went from $104 (intro rate) to $124 two months in to $154 two months after that; DO NOT expect to get a prorated credit when you vacate unless you are out by the 5th of the month and you have to email to request this (I'm sure it is in the contract so read carefully because they are not forthcoming with this info). Sadly, I was counting on getting most of that month's rent back as I was moved out by the 7th. My experience is specific to the Seguin, TX location so not sure all locations have dumping issues but some things, like lack of customer service/wrong info on the website and cost going up, were on the company level. I changed my rating back to one star. Disappointed. ... Read more

My experience is always good until I realize I'm paying more for my unit than your standard cost is advertised. I'd like to pay the advertised cost and no more please. I am on a very tight budget as a 65 yr old retiree. Please give this serious thought. Thank you Cassie for your help today. Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.

The facility at 720 Harry Miller Pass offers 24/7 access, allowing you to visit your unit at your convenience.

To open your storage unit door, start by unlocking it, whether it uses a traditional padlock or a Bluetooth-enabled smart lock. Once unlocked, grab the bottom handle and lift or pull up the roll-up door until it’s fully open.

If you’re using the unit for the first time, make sure the lock is properly removed before opening the door to avoid damage.

Security helps protect your belongings while they’re in storage and gives you peace of mind between visits. Many self storage facilities use a combination of features such as video surveillance, gated access, on-site management, and well-lit premises to help deter unauthorized access.

At 10 Federal Self Storage - 720 Harry Miller Pass, available security amenities may include Security Camera, Gate, designed to help keep your items protected.

Yes, most standard vehicles can be stored in self storage units. A 10x20 unit typically provides enough space for a car, while outdoor or designated parking areas may be available for larger vehicles.

    • Hazardous, flammable, or toxic materials
    • Perishable food
    • Live plants or animals
