Read some helpful reviews of Lone Star Storage, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

managed by Lone Star Storage on 1097 down the road. Two years ago I was going to move over to Bentwater Boat Storage from Public Storage, both on the same road, 8 or so miles apart. For the price and the AC plumbing controlled unit. It was it I believe a 10 x 10 is what I was looking at and I ended up renting it but I wasn’t able to move in right away, so about two weeks later after I had already reserved the unit this was June or July area of 2021. When I was ready to move into it, I was changing storage units and I hired movers and we went to the old storage unit and loaded everything up in the truck and we went over to the new storage unit at Bentwater Boat Storage and we get there and it’s got a lock on it! I wasn’t able to put my stuff in there and I had hired movers so I had to pay the movers anyway, because they did do work. However why there was a lock on there when I wasn’t even moved in yet is beyond me. So I bring this up to the office of course that would be Lone Star Storage on 1097 and they told me that they had pictures of my stuff in the unit! I said y’all better find out who stuff that is and give them their stuff because it’s not mine. I never got access to the unit i paid over $200 for. Very Wrong. Today they still haven’t owned up to thier costly and unfair mistake. see I never was able to get into the unit. I was never able to move in. That was not my stuff in that unit. These scammers aka management, are wrong and they’re combative and they are unfair and they do not have pictures of my stuff in that unit because I never got access to the unit because they had a lock on the space i rented so that’s impossible that they have “pictures” because my stuff was never in there! They just took my $200 and REFUSED to give my money back, even though it says in their contract, that if I never take possession of the unit, i would get my money back, but they did not honor their own contract and refused to acknowledge their mistake. i would never wish that horrible storage place experience on anyone! They’re awful in customer service! They ripped me off! •LOCKED ME OUT/PUT A LOCK ON MY NEW UNIT • DIDNT HONOR THEIR OWN CONTRACT •ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY ON THEIR MISTAKE •MANAGED VERY POORLY BY LONE STAR STORAGE • NO EMPLOYEES ON SITE •DIFFICULT TO WORK WITH •VERY HARD TO GET AHOLD OF They manager at LSS treated me like i was lying to her. The whole thing was just bad bad bad. YOUR STUFF IS NOT SAFE HERE! So when we realized that we were not going to be able to get into the unit, I had to take my stuff back to Public Storage. I had to pay the movers anyway for their time and I wasted valuable time and energy with this place, who just turned around and ripped me off over $200 . Oh, when I tried to talk to them about it, I had to go to the Lone Star Storage office in order to get through to somebody because they manage Bentwater Boat Storage, and when I did, they told me that they had pictures of my stuff in that unit that’s impossible because I never got in that unit. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! ... Read more

Codes were changed and we did not receive the new code to get in the climate control storage area. We had a truck load with paid movers with our climate control home goods that we are now force to put in our dry storage. It really stinks that you can't get any help after 5pm or a return phone call. My wife and I will have to return tomorrow to re-move our furniture to the climate control storage.. Heavy Heavy.. Furniture. Extremely disappointed with the level of service. ... Read more

I don't have anything in here, but I've visited with a friend who stores a big Robalo. Based on that, I'd say his stall is 12'-ish wide & 30' deep, with 16' ceilings, maybe - monstrous. The entrance is okay - key pad on the left, obviously for drivers, but it makes meeting oncoming traffic interesting. There's enough room between buildings, also, for me to park the 26' trailer in its spot behind my Crew cab, long bed, dually. All in all, it's a good place. ... Read more

I called many storage facilities in the Conroe area before choosing Lone Star Storage on FM 1097 in Willis, TX. I spoke with Robin a few weeks before actually needing a storage unit for my 25 ft. RV. I talked to her at length about my wants and needs so she could guide me since I am a solo traveler and was unsure of what would best suit my situation. The unit she suggested was enclosed (what I wanted) and had everything I needed to maintain my RV for the hot summer months. When I called her to let her know when I would be bringing my RV in she had everything prepared for me. I felt very safe each time I entered the premises and feel like Lone Star has all the systems in place to keep my property safe. I will not hesitate to use them again when I am not traveling. ... The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
