This is a great place for storage at a reasonable price. It's convenient to I15 & Redwood Road. It is well-kept, well-managed by friendly owners. I've stored here for years and have never had problems with bugs! ... Read more

Our motorhome was broken into along with several others. The security/ video surveillance we counted on was not a help as they couldn’t review the cameras even though they knew when it happened. They don’t have any insurance so they have no skin in the game to protect your property. ... Read more

The family that's operating the units is friendly, the older lady that I dealt with was sweet and went above and beyond to help us find a unit that was large enough for our things and prorated it more than she had too. Very friendly place I highly recommend it. ... Read more

This would be good place to store your RV if you are a professional truck driver and can back a trailer into a shoe box. If not, good luck with the tight spaces, little room, and no pull around. I gave up trying to negotiate for a an easier spot and took my business elsewhere. Less stress for me and the trailer. Convenience and security are worth a couple stars. ... Read more

The management was very friendly, however their prices were higher than other storage units in the area. We were going to get a unit at the end of a month and they do not prorate the monthly charge, so we would have ended up paying for the whole month even though we would’ve only used two or three days of the month. ... Fairly cheap as far as storage goes, however it is a pretty small area comma and the spaces between the units are rather tight so it's difficult to maneuver more than one person at a time up and down each Isle, or even one with a trailer. However convenient because they have storage for boats trailers RVs excetera ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Atherton Storage - 972 West Atherton Drive has to offer. These amenities include Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate and RV Storage. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
