Read some helpful reviews of Cordata Self Storage at 200 West Kellogg Road, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

I'm a college student here in Bellingham and needed a storage unit for the summer, Cordata Self Storage had the best rates and good discounts for new commers. All the staff was very friendly and willing to answer my questions. Keith called my last week in the unit to double check with me about the move-out process which was very helpful ... Read more

They are absolutely amazing. Highly recommend as a place to go to store all of your extra boxes or holiday decorations. The staff have been amazing and even helped me out when we needed to get a second unit by finding the second unit in the same area as the first one. If I could rate higher I would. ... Read more

Be warned!!! I put some stuff here due to the nice staff and price point. Boy was that a ruse. Every year they've raised the price and now it's almost double what I originally paid. Stay away if you can! ... Read more

I generally don’t like writing negative reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience for others to be aware of what they’re getting into. This was my second time renting a storage unit here. My first experience, in 2004-2005, was excellent, which is why I returned. However, this time, it was different. Onsite management had changed. During my time there, the onsite manager never returned calls or emails. Jewel, the weekend manager, was the only one who made anything happen. (She should be the manager because she actually cares about doing an excellent job.) Storage rent has skyrocketed. I don’t remember how much it used to be, but the cost of a 10x20 was $300+tax, and the cost for a 15x30 was $340+tax. I’m positive those prices are among the highest in town. If I’m paying high-end prices, I expect high-end service. I should trust my belongings are safe and secure, and I should feel safe accessing my unit at any time without feeling the need to look over my shoulder. However, things got bad. Let me clarify what I mean. If you’re from Bellingham, then you’re aware of the rising homeless population and the issues that come along with it. Cordata is a popular area for them. I began to question the security of the property when I noticed homeless tents around the perimeter of the fence. Management told me they had notified the local police but had no authority to make them move. I completely understand that, but have you done your due diligence to ensure the property is safe? The answer was no. Shortly after I noticed the homeless tents, I was at my unit dropping something off and noticed something strange. One of the cameras that had always been mounted was now just hanging by a few wires. Upon closer inspection, someone had knocked it down with a bat or something similar. Someone isn’t going to go to that extreme for no reason. I did a perimeter check and found a human-sized hole cut out of the fence on the far side of the facility, right under where the cameras used to be. This was also right by my unit. Troublingly, I also found a half-filled gas can next to the hole in the fence. I took pictures of the cameras to show management on March 18, 2024. They said they were aware of everything and were waiting on estimates. A few weeks went by, and nothing had changed. I didn’t feel safe going to the unit at night anymore. I asked if I could move to a unit closer to the main office to cut costs. Jewel worked with me, and I was given some extra time. They didn’t double charge me. The extra time allowed me to re-pack everything and consolidate things. Without it, I wouldn’t have discovered the dead rat that had eaten its way into one of my bags. I don’t even want to imagine what kind of nightmare it would have been if it had been rotting for months. During my move, sometime in mid-April, the manager stopped by my unit with some questions and mentioned she was “freaking out” because one of the units had been broken into, and a bunch of stuff was stolen. Of course, it was one of the units right by the broken cameras and the hole in the fence. I told a friend about all this, and he mentioned that his old storage unit had break-ins as well. People were able to enter one unit and go over the top of the side paneling inside the units. I had no idea this was possible. When I arrived at my unit the following day, I looked for any signs of entry and found obvious signs everywhere. Footprints all over the walls, my mattress, my ladder, and a piece of my furniture was destroyed. The insulation was torn up overhead, and pieces had fallen inside the unit. After all this, I decided to leave and moved to another storage facility completely. I had to go through everything. I hadn’t considered the possibility of theft, but five high-end watches had been stolen. I was furious. I turned in the lock on April 24, 2024. Nothing had been fixed/replaced. Management simply didn’t care. I hope Jewel takes over managing the facility! ... Read more

Don't fall for the 1/3 off the first 3 months. It is a clean and safe facility but their billing practices are extremely miss leading. Even though our son moved his stuff in on the last day of May, they counted it as a whole month toward the special and then we only got 1 more discounted month after that, not the 3 advertised. ... This place has been great and the people that work here are fantastic! We’ve had nothing but a positive experience. They were very accommodating in helping us move from a larger unit into a smaller unit when we downsized and were flexible with a discount to offset the timing of the rent cycle for us. They were also very helpful in lending us their truck a couple of times during different stages of our moving process. Their customer service has been excellent. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Cordata Self Storage - 200 West Kellogg Road has to offer. These amenities include Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, First Floor Access and Online Payment. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by Cordata Self Storage - 200 West Kellogg Road can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 25 to 720 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

Storage units offered by Cordata Self Storage - 200 West Kellogg Road come at a variety of prices, starting from $79 per month for typically smaller units. However, larger spaces can set you back up to $714 a month.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
