Keep getting broke into, and they'd rather paint the place than make it more secure. They don't care ,cause they're not responsible for your stuff getting damaged and stolen. Just don't be late on your payment. The caring, friendliness left when Miss Debbie passed. I miss her ?? and our talks. ... Read more

We have been Tennant's there for quite a few years and have had no problems even though there are a number of issues. Why the 3 stars? - Access to your storage unit is subject to when the office is open. - To make the claim of "Secure" implies gated entry which requires a code or something similar. - They only accept Cash, Check, and Money orders. The only exception to this is when the COVID lockdown was going on and they then accepted cards. - The buildings need improvement, and the slides for the locks need updating. ... Read more

DO NOT RENT A STOARGE UNIT FROM THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE TREATED POORLY AND BE LOCKED OUT OF YOUR UNIT. I have had my storage unit for a month. Every time I get into my unit I have to call the front desk to come fix the door so it will properly open and close. Tuesday 10/29/19 the 90 year old female worker came out and messed the door up even more then it had been previously. She told me to leave my storage door open and unsecured until Friday when another worker came in and she would leave a note for them to fix it. No note was left. I came back Saturday morning when I had time. The manager temporary fixed the door again and asked us to wait for the owner to arrive. I waited at the storage unit for an hour and a half for the owner to tell me they needed me to leave MY personal unit keys so that they could take things out of my unit and fix it in the next few days, or at my personal convince. I have been promised this for a month. When I expressed my displeasure with the entire situation the owner told me flat out that she doesn’t care. This is uncalled for and unprofessional business. My family’s entire life is currently in this storage unit because we are preparing to PCS with the army. This storage facility is completely ghetto and useless. Take your money and belongings elsewhere for safe keeping. ... Read more

Cash or check is the only form of acceptable payments, creating a minor inconvenience, but easily manageable. Fortunately, there are numerous banks less than 1 mile away. Staff is very friendly and honest. Have not come across anything cheaper. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that L-W Safe Storage - 455 1st Street North has to offer. These amenities include Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking and RV Storage. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
