DO NOT USE THIS STORAGE UNIT PLACE!!! TERRIBLE service!! Got our kayaks stolen! The place is suppose to be “secured” and it is far from it. Their whole sign in book it pointless and so is the gate if someone can steal two large kayaks! Nothing was done about it! They told us theft was a on going problem there and numerous storage units were getting their locks cut off and stuff stolen out of them! ... Read more

Stopped in to look at units and security for possible storage, accidentally missed the sign in sign at the office and as I was driving around, guy darn near runs into my vehicle and proceeds to get out of car and literally chew me a new one!!! Wasn't like, "I am sorry, but you are required to check in prior to entering, may I help you with something?" but was down right rude as hell! Chewed me up and down. That experience right there with the on site manager just lost them a customer. There was not reason for that at all!! Yes, it was my mistake I missed the sign, but as the manager of the place you should at least be thinking of a possible customer and not come off the way that person did! Absolutely Terrible!! Will never use this place just from that experience! RUDE RUDE RUDE, if that person is like that to a prospective customer, I can only imagine how he is to their clients! ... Read more

Keep searching for a place. Where to start. Owner is a class A ... well ... he needs anger management. I had a business partner buying something from me out of storage, told him where to come to. He didn't stop and tell the office, so the owner comes out in a huff in his car, get out, slams the door and is just red in the face. He started spouting off, and before I got even more embarrassed had to step up on him to quiet him down. Why was he raging? My associate didn't see their sign to stop and let the office know, innocent mistake. If it's that important, spend the money and put up an automated gate, cheapskate. I had to apologize to my business partner for getting yelled at, luckily he thought it was just funny. Take note of the railroad distance from these units. A myriad of trains rail through a day, kicking up dust ... I suggest anything you store here should be shrink-wrapped. Pests. It's a swampy type area, so you have a very healthy population of spiders, mice and bees. The only thing they control, are the mice. When moving out I had a shop vac close by to suck up all the spider webs, spider eggs and spiders themselves. Had to isolate all my items while I bombed it to get what I couldn't see. Talk about a pain! When I moved out, there were wasp nests (made from mud) that had fallen and busted apart. They require sweeping out the unit when you move out, fine. The only thing I swept out was stuff that had fallen from the ceiling, wasp nests ... dried dirt. I did the right thing and shop vac'd the entire unit, all the white spider nests around the exposed 2X4s and loose rocks from the breaking driveway in front of the unit. If you're going to be using a 2-wheel cart, good luck ... my unit's entrance was so gouged and uneven, it took a crew of people to move stuff on a cart. Not all the property is paved, so when you get moving trucks moving through and turning around etc, they kick up dust just like the trains. The only reason this review is getting 2 stars, is due to the fact he hired an office assistant that can control him and put him in his place. Only deal with her if you do decide to do business here, get to know her car even. When getting ready to move out, and pay my fair share, the owner ... mistakenly chided me, red in the face, he was shaking yelling at me ... later realizing he was in the wrong. What a piece of .... work. I only rented here because I liked the idea of a secure storage dog guarded. The one dog is an elderly springer spaniel. The fence is loose and not tight to the ground at all, I could get in there if I really wanted too. It's great to have barbed wire protecting your property, but is pointless when you could scoot easily underneath the fence! lol There is cheaper, secure storage in the area, and may I suggest a unit that is temp controlled and indoors. I had to clean out bugs, what they left behind, bomb my own items and that should not have to be done. This guy is a hot-head keep in mind, if you do rent here, walk on egg shells if you have to deal with him. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Security Self Storage - 4841 Mormon Coulee Road has to offer. These amenities include Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking and RV Storage. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
