Unit rented was to be Climate Controlled...was NOT!! Also they have a RAT PROBLEM!! So now my belongs have mold, dryrot, rat feces and urine. Many piece of furniture is chewed on and legs were chewed off. Rat feces carries a virus that is deadly!. When asked if they will be notifing the units near me that share the same drop ceiling, where the RATS made entry, their response was NO, NOT THEIR JOB TO NOTIFY RENTERS. So that tells me the RATS have been there for a long time. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! ... Read more

The manager entered my information wrong when I rented the unit. I told her this THAT DAY. When I call to check balance/pay the bill (because this company neither invoices electronically nor through mail...you deal with this one "manager" on a landline) she obviously had trouble finding my unit. When I remind her she entered my information wrong, she got flustered and tried to argue. Who else does she think did it?! I suggested she search my first name to prove this, and SURPRISE she finds the info. Headstrong as ever, she continues to tell me how to feel and to calm down, when SHE initiated the combative strategy of telling me I don't know what I am talking about. I am well spoken/quick enough to point out where the conversation turned and she would not acknowledge anything, from the glaring clerical error to her terrible attitude, and continued to speak over me. It got to the point where I just repeatedly asked her if she could tell me what I owed as she kept trying to talk over me. I just can't imagine how such a good listener would make a clerical error. Truly. She demanded me to come to the office without telling me the balance I owe, or letting me pay it over the phone. What a messy unprofessional person to leave in charge East Bay mini storage. I do not recommend if you can avoid it. Update: I got a response from the owner that was apologetic at first, and seemed surprised we were having the issue. She may have an amazing track record to date, and I understand people have bad days, but she believed whole heartedly everything the manager said without question...even going so far as to give an example of a positive interaction she had with a customer right after our negative encounter. She also didn't believe she stopped the call to pay my bill by requesting I come into the office, because "Why would she invite someone who was being nasty into the office?" I have to admit this behavior seems out of place, but only if you believe I am making up the combative attitude she was displaying. All I can say is, there are people who when presented with a personal mistake, can't accept it at first, and will try to deflect through the use of sarcasm and by invalidating your claim. These same people might be tactful enough to reframe these instances where they are being victimized by your persistence. You're the customer, they do owe you respect on the front end. If that is not what you are getting, then you have a right to speak exactly how youre being spoken to. If that is being nasty then I will be a nasty customer over disrespected and invalidated all day long. To add to the owners words: You most definitely can't please everyone... especially not with that approach. ... Read more

Awful customer service, the lady that answers the phone, Tanya, she is very rude, disrespectful and does not listen to the customer’s needs and questions. She needs customer service training. She’s quick to get mad and just talks over what the customer wants and questions. Was asked to speak to someone else that would listen to our needs, instead she responds, Im the manager, Im the boss over here! Who does this? I’ve never met anyone like this! Just rude and poor customer service!!! 1 star is too much!!! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.
