I had been renting at Greenwood self storage over a year when I just happened to get on their website to see that they were renting my unit for $150/month and I had been paying $175/month for a year. I called to ask about the price and got voicemail. I left a message and never heard back. So, I decided to shop around and found they were the most expensive. Then I called around the 12th of the month to tell them I would be moving out by the end of the month because I needed help moving everything. Two days later I get a phone call asking if I am out of the unit yet. I told them no and that I would be out by the end of the month. So yesterday is when I had help to move. We get there and the pass code has been deleted. We call to get in and the man acts like he has no idea who I am. I give him my unit number and he says something is telling him I moved out that morning. I told him no I was there to move. He acted like I had done something wrong but finally he gave me a code to get in. I was paid up thru today. I don’t think that I should have been locked out when I still had another day on my lease. Every few days, since I gave my notice, I would get regular texts asking if I have moved. This situation was stressful and I’m thrilled with my new location. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
