Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage at 1985 East Bayshore Road, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

I had a storage unit here for about a year before the lock was cut and half of my stuff stolen. All I had in there was some old books, family photos, awards, and the bike and journal I took while biking across the country, etc. Basically stuff that are worth nothing for anyone, but are of a lot of sentimental values for me. When I filed the police report, the officers responding and another officer that have been handling a lot of break-in case at this location told me they get cases like this at this locations all the time. There is a lot going on in EPA and for crimes like this, the police really can't do much beyond filing the report. I had to do all the legwork between the police and Public Storage to get the video surveillance, and nothing turned up because apparently they don't have cameras covering all building exits. And Public Storage who supposedly have gone through the videos (because EPA police don't have the time and resources to) didn't find anything in the cameras at the exit of the facility. I'm still processing the loss of all the personal items, and this experience has ruined all storage facilities for me. If you have to use a storage, at least use the one down the street within Palo Alto police jurisdiction, who will hopefully have more resources for stuff like this. And look for places with more restricted access to units, with cameras. ... Read more

Regarding this location, I've been there many times and only once has anyone actually been in the office when they were supposed to be. At least the Kiosk videochat service tried to help me out. The most helpful person was the Janitor, who couldn't do much when there was a mixup over the keys after the locks were changed this year, but she deserves credit for trying. She also keeps the place relatively clean. If public storage could use doors that keep out more dust, that would be great. The stuff I had near the door got absolutely filthy. Obviously this is a known risk, and you should cover stuff that you don't want to get dirty, but don't underestimate the amount of dirt that can get in ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Public Storage - 1985 East Bayshore Road has to offer. These amenities include Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by Public Storage - 1985 East Bayshore Road can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 50 to 300 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

Storage units offered by Public Storage - 1985 East Bayshore Road come at a variety of prices, starting from $153 per month for typically smaller units. However, larger spaces can set you back up to $812 a month.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
