Unattended most of the time, You end up calling customer service and leaving a message just for general info. Account specific info can only be handled by the facility not customer service so you are our of luck if you happen to choose this place. Facility is nice & clean but ever since Public Storage acquired this site, the office is closed. ... Read more

We have had a different experience at this particular storage facility (5733 Pacheco). Starting in early 2023, I rented a 10x15 storage unit in the climate-controlled building as I had family furniture to store along with other household items. All was well until early this year (2024) when rats infested the building/property. Apparently, the adjacent Grayson Creek wetland had been clear cut by the district, and the local rat population moved onto the property, and readily entered the building through the buildings older roofing. After not having visited the storage unit in a while, in May (2024), we discovered that our unit had been infested with rats, where we found 3-4 rat nests built in our stacked furniture, using our upholstery as nesting material...and some furniture pieces with softer wood had been destroyed by chewing...and rat pee and droppings everywhere. We had worked with the office managers Lisa and Maria to set traps with the goal of clearing them out, but nothing worked and they kept coming back. The entire facility has rat bait traps everywhere both inside and out, but didn't seem to be effective. We did explore moving to a unit on the far side of the facility from the creek, but found evidence of rat droppings even in these other units. Attaching photos one of the large rats caught and some of the damage. We moved out. Although Lisa and Maria were very nice and sympathetic, management could have informed us long before that there was a rat infestation problem to give us the opportunity to move out before a lot of the damage happened, but they didn't (and seemed like keeping the rental income was the management's priority)...and unfortunately our homeowners insurance doesn't cover rodent damage. Apparently, if you purchased insurance through storage facility, there was nominal limited coverage apparently for rat damage...but with a low cap. Management basically said that renting storage at their facility is at your own risk, and that they would not compensate us for any damage or moving costs. All said, the people that work there are nice as was the overall facility pre-rats, but only rent a storage unit at this facility if the items you are storing can't be damaged by rats. Seeing what they did to our family furniture, I don't think many things fall into that category....hard to deal with even the smell of rat pee. I gave this a one star for the risks of renting from this facility due to the rat infestation....by if you can get by that issue, it gets a much higher star rating. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
