Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

The woman that helped me today was SO extremely kind & patient. I walked in very mad about a rent increase, my inability to pay without downloading an app and my frustration with losing my gate code. I was smiling and laughing when I walked out and realized I had paid my rent, downloaded the app and had my gate code written down, in hand! THAT is excellent customer service. ... Read more

The Public Storage in Rohnert Park is the absolute best Public storage I’ve ever rented from. And Barbra, who manages the facility is incredible. Not only does she keep the site clean and functional, she’s kind, considerate and is a compassionate human being. A surprising rarity these days. ... Read more

The good… Barbara was great to work with for the 3.5 years we rented units there. She was very helpful any time we needed assistance. The bad…. We had two 10x15 units and they were reasonably priced at first. When Public Storage took over the property, our rent immediately increased by $100 then increased again which put us double where we started. We received another increase notice last week putting our units at over $500 each and finally decided enough was enough. We would have stayed for years but large chain storage places don’t seem to value long term renters. My parents are on a fixed income and could no longer afford to stay so we have no choice but to leave and find a less expensive storage option. ... Read more

Barbara, the facility manager, is absolutely amazing. She is highly professional, always well-informed, and provides information quickly and clearly. She goes above and beyond to ensure the property is safe and secure at all times. This is by far the most secure facility I’ve encountered, and the level of service is outstanding. If I could give 10 stars, I absolutely would. ... Read more

I've been at this storage for quite sometime. Well maintained love the hours so if i needed to come later & wouldn't have to rush & worry about get locked in. I feel the prices are pretty fair. Even when it changed hands I was worried that I would have to deal with a new person. I don't like change I only stayed because of Barbara who is on property management. Barbara is very helpful kind I feel very comfortable around her. If I need a lifht bulb changed she gets right on it. ... Read more

She helped me get everything set up right then and there on the app and directions for how to access the facility. Can’t recommend her enough! ... Read more

Well, if you’ve been following me around, you know that we’re moving to Rohnert Park house isn’t exactly ready yet so I stopped by Public Storage and a wonderful wonderful woman named Barbara took care of us. Got us a deal on our first roll up and then seamlessly got us into a second one as well and she really knows her stuff very helpful and easy to find for answers. I think she actually lives there. ... This place has a lot of factors about it that can be better; the fact is, the corporation doesn't seem to pay much attention to requests for assistance in the app right under help and support, nor email, phone calls, or messages left with staff on-site, to either the district manager or to corporate. I've asked and sent MANY messages over the course of YEARS, and received little to no response and/or productive action in return. However, over the course of some of those years, I've had the pleasure of getting to know one of the staff a little (Cindy), and witnessing her while she's working. She shows IMMENSE dedication to this place (which doesn't strike me as being worthy of her); one can tell in everything she does, she truly loves her job, this location in particular. Anytime it's brought up, her entire countenance brightens — even if she has reason to complain, she makes any complaints in good humor, while still remaining positive & upbeat. I don't know if they really treat employees very well; I know they don't necessarily uphold great standards in many other areas, but she most DEFINITELY improves upon things, putting great effort into keeping it clean (both inside AND out of the office), really making sure to sweep & de-cobweb religiously, ensuring a bathroom that's *actually* clean, and making sure to put in the time to make 'all the calls'. Cindy is a true gem ?? — if she'd let me hire her, I'd snap her up in a heartbeat; but alas, she LOVES working here. I sincerely hope they appreciate her — I know I sure appreciate the clean bathroom! Give that little powerhouse something to *Really* work with, and I can't even imagine how she might soar to new heights of success. Her attitude and care for the patrons here is definitely something to respect, admire, and mirror. Cindy: THANK YOU for always going above and beyond to provide amazing service — you really do succeed! ?????????? ... Read more

Storage Sizes are good deals here... I was concerned about some of my items with the heat. Went over to the unit at high heat time of day in the latest heatwave... Rat infested. If you want all of your belongings to be covered in rat feces this is the place for you! Not to mention the forever increasing rates. This place is an absolute rip off. I paid over $170 a month for rats to chew through my belongings and to contaminate it with feces. Had to throw most of it away. If you’re looking for a storage solution please look elsewhere. Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
