I was offered a "lifetime" discounted rate when I joined, and less than 6 months later they are increasing my storage unit monthly cost by 52%. Unacceptable. Do not trust them, they wait for you to move all of your stuff in then increase rates by over 50%! At least they gave a 1 month warnings... (joking. Seriously, what the hell public storage) ... Do not put your stuff here. Zero cell service. You won't get any important messages. also no service for quite some time after you've left. Many times I've been in a blazing hurry and I have to restart my phone before I can even set GPS. I would have never selected this site had I known. Not receiving messages when I'm in there has caused me problems over and over again. ... Read more

Disappointed with Public Storage I chose Public Storage because I was assured it was safe. Within a year, my unit was broken into, and $7,000 worth of camping equipment was stolen. The staff’s response was simply, “You should have paid for the insurance.” I was led to believe the insurance was for fire or water damage—not theft. If I had known security was an issue, I would have reconsidered or added theft insurance. Why don’t they include theft insurance in the rent or provide door sensors—or at least offer the option to add them? We trust storage facilities for security, but this experience shows otherwise. Apparently, theft is a regular occurrence at many storage facilities, but they don’t disclose this. Even when I asked, they denied it happens. They lie about it to get your business. Think twice before renting here, and if you do, get extra insurance or find a facility with better security measures. ... Read more

Stay away from this storage. They will try to charge you still after you move out for another month. Serena was extremely rude and kept on shouting at me saying that they will send me to collections even though I already move out. Talisma, the manager, when I first moved in, coerced me into putting a five star review on google and hovered over me watching me write the review. As I was moving out friday, Talisma recklessly drove backwards on the property lot almost hitting my car, and just drove away without apologizing or nothing. It’s all crazy. I have it all on my dashcam and will be presenting as evidence for any legal actions I will be taking. I suffer from extreme anxiety disorder and this, along with the constant harassment and the way Serena communicated with me, has aggravated my condition. I will be filing a complaint, especially after Serena’s extremely disrespectful way of talking down to me like I was a child, and after threatening to send me to collections for charges that I do not owe. I will be communicating with the corporate office as well. They really think they can bully people around, but this has to stop. I will be taking all avenues possible to stop the constant harassment i’m getting from them. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Public Storage - 1096 North Fair Oaks Avenue has to offer. These amenities include Indoor, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access and Online Payment. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by Public Storage - 1096 North Fair Oaks Avenue can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 25 to 150 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

Storage units offered by Public Storage - 1096 North Fair Oaks Avenue come at a variety of prices, starting from $83 per month for typically smaller units. However, larger spaces can set you back up to $291 a month.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
