SCAM!!!! Just another business out to rob you. They don’t answer calls but have no problem increasing rent prices with zero notice. If you’re late on a payment by a day they will charge you over a hundred dollars. I suspect they only stay in business by taking advantage of regular people just trying to get by. Seriously try any other storage facility because this one will take you for all your worth ... Read more

STAY AWAY.!!! Absolutely horrible facility. They increase the rent every three months by about 40%. When you call to speak to the property manager, no one ever returns any voicemail. The unit next to me leaked chemicals into my unit and Public Storage didn’t help me whatsoever. I paid my rent and then had to dispute the charge. Months later I got a notice from a debt collector that I had never paid. Instead of responding to my credit card dispute, they then went and submitted a report to a collections agency that I never even paid!! ... Read more

They jack up your price all the time. Started at $129 / month eventually went all the way up to $300 after 18 months. You can never get anyone on the phone to help you. If you're looking for something short term I'm sure its fine but highly recommend you avoid if you'll be there a year they'll screw you. Just jack up price without any notice. Also, they wont pro-rate they charge for the entire month when you move out. AVOID!!! ... Read more

Definitely would not recommend anyone to store their personal belongings or any valuables here for there Are no employees or managers hardly ever working on the property location. As well they never shovel the snow. Buyers or renters beware! ... Read more

Been here about four months. Have not had any problems. No supervisor on duty during day time. There is a kiosk in the front office to pay your bill or online (how I opted in). The sign up was easy. The price stuff jump up after the second month higher then what I thought it was going to send up but I have 3 times the space and still paying just under what it last storage unit cost per month. We have a 10x15 paying 105.00 USD. We only had a 5x10 at the last place and was paying 120.00 USD. So I can't complain to much..... ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.

To open your storage unit door, start by unlocking it, whether it uses a traditional padlock or a Bluetooth-enabled smart lock. Once unlocked, grab the bottom handle and lift or pull up the roll-up door until it’s fully open.

If you’re using the unit for the first time, make sure the lock is properly removed before opening the door to avoid damage.

Security helps protect your belongings while they’re in storage and gives you peace of mind between visits. Many self storage facilities use a combination of features such as video surveillance, gated access, on-site management, and well-lit premises to help deter unauthorized access.

At Public Storage - 1398 Simms Street, available security amenities may include Security Camera, Gate, Onsite Manager, designed to help keep your items protected.

Yes, most standard vehicles can be stored in self storage units. A 10x20 unit typically provides enough space for a car, while outdoor or designated parking areas may be available for larger vehicles.

For safety reasons, most self storage facilities restrict certain items. These commonly include:

    • Hazardous, flammable, or toxic materials
    • Perishable food
    • Live plants or animals
    • Cash, firearms, or irreplaceable valuables

Always check with the facility at 1398 Simms Street for specific restrictions and recommendations.
