Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

My experience at the Public Storage location at 1020 NW 23rd Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL, was outstanding. Rachel, the property manager, was professional, friendly, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. She went above and beyond to ensure our storage experience was smooth, which made a stressful relocation much easier. Rachel was very knowledgeable about the property and the available storage units. Her exceptional customer service truly stood out. When she saw us struggling to move a piece of furniture into the elevator, she didn't hesitate to lend a helping hand. I highly recommend this Public Storage location to anyone looking for a clean, well-managed facility with excellent customer service. Rachel's dedication and willingness to help made all the difference. ... Read more

This property is poorly maintained and has serious management issues. There is only one men's restroom open for all three floors, which is extremely inconvenient for tenants and visitors. Getting assistance is nearly impossible. No one ever answers the office phone, yet when you stop by the office, staff members are often on their phones. Customer service and communication are severely lacking. The property manager, Rachel, has been rude and unhelpful in my experience. This property would benefit greatly from more responsive and professional management. ... Read more

Very clean unit just make sure you secure things in bins and not keeping things that attract insects. I stored an onion on accident once and the next day I saw bugs. I keep moth balls also because I don’t know what others are bringing in !!! ... Read more

I just started renting a unit here and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. Moving can be such a headache, but Rossana made the process incredibly smooth. She was so patient and actually took the time to walk me through everything, from how the elevators work to locating the best loading zone and other amenities. I never felt rushed, and she answered all my questions before I even had to ask them. It’s rare to get that kind of genuine customer service these days! The facility is clean and well-maintained, but it’s the staff that really sets this place apart. If you’re looking for a spot, definitely ask for Rossana! ... Read more

I was extremely ill when I rented this storage unit year before last (2024). I had to use a professional moving company because of my illness. They did all of the work in putting my stuff inside of the unit and mind you, I waited in the lobby of PS as they did. So, I didn’t get to see the finished product. I saw inside the unit for the first time, 2 days ago to find it extremely clean, neat and well kept. I was astonished. I have NEVER seen a unit so impressive. I would totally recommend this place, HIGHLY. I rated this place a 4 because there is always room for improvement, I can’t see this place doing anything but great. Thank you for keeping my personals protected and clean. ... Read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Rachael, the property manager, is a phenomenal person. She is very accommodating and has incredible customer service. She’s prompt with answering phone calls and is readily available on the property. The location is a newly renovated storage facility — squeaky clean and well-kept. They have multiple large rolling carts, elevators, restrooms, top notch security, and well-insulated units that are temperature controlled. Their prices are extremely competitive. I’ve had such a great experience here, I even extended a couple more months than originally planned. It’s a relief to know my things are safe. I’m so glad I decided to do business at this particular Public Storage. Thank you! ... Read more

No need to go look at this brand new facility in person @ 1020 N.W. 23RD Ave,Ft Lauderdale it is terrific & brand NEW! Never have I seen a Public storage this nice. The storage just opened the prices are the best in town! Rachael is lovely & very considerate, respectful, & wants YOU to be happy. I have had units in NYC, and L.A this location is solid cement the Air conditioning is spectacular, large areas as there might be others moving in or out, 2 huge elevators in the wing where I have my storage unit. I paid several months in Advance as I wanted them to know I am a serious client, and I might not be able to move my things in for a month but the price speaks for itself right now. So much to worry about in a move and moving parts. With Rachael Help and ease makes this storage a no brainer. Even if a bit further out I only go to my storage 1’s a year if that ! I got a larger size so I can go through my things too… btw, there are some rules with PODS containers as in all storage places. The facility is TERRIFIC and Rachael does a great job making YOU Happy & is the cherry on top… ! Cheers. ... Read more

THE GRAND OPENING!! The New Public Storage Facility This was and architectural achievement! Nothing short of beautiful. The building Towers over Central Broward County and the Historic Dillard Community. Once it was was a vintage operation with many moving parts and was still good. But the solid and unison structure this nee building is breathtaking and strong. It's Southside (main entrance side) gives a perfect view of the Sunrise Blvd Overpass and the whole I-95 highway built in 1996. Check it out! Open ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
