Read some helpful reviews of Gator State Storage, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Terrible experience. When our movers arrived, the storage unit we had reserved wasn’t available, and were given a much smaller unit instead. After just a few weeks we had to move everything out since it didn’t fit all our things. On top of that, we found mice droppings all over our belongings — even though no food was stored. Absolutely disgusting. And to make matters worse, we still haven’t gotten our deposit back despite following up multiple times and being ignored. Save yourself the stress and find another storage facility. ... Read more

I’ve had a great experience with Gator State Storage in Lake Worth. I’m renting a 10x 10 in premium. It was easy to upgrade. From the start, the staff was helpful and made the move-in process quick and easy. The facility is clean, well-kept, and feels very secure. If I had a question, they were quick to respond and super friendly. It’s been a smooth and stress-free experience all around — I’d definitely recommend Gator State Storage to anyone who needs a reliable place to store their things. ... Read more

Don't Use This Storage Facility! Seriously, save yourself the trouble. When we opened our storage unit, it was a nightmare. There was rat feces everywhere, and our belongings—furniture, clothes, everything—were chewed up by rats. The entire floor was covered in droppings. What's worse is there were no traps until we told them and sent pictures. I don't understand how nobody saw all the rat droppings. They clearly don't care at all. It's so upsetting to think we paid them just to feed rats, and the site manager showed zero concern. ... Read more

AVOID This Storage Facility – Unless You Like Rats! TERRIBLE Experience!!! After six months away, we returned to Florida, excited to retrieve our summer clothes from this storage unit. What we found instead was a rat-infested disaster. Our belongings – mirrors, books, pillows – were utterly destroyed, gnawed to bits, and covered in rat droppings and urine. When we called the number provided, the representative showed zero concern. He vaguely mentioned sending an insurance link, which, predictably, didn't even work. Days passed with no follow-up. Only after I texted them did they casually mention an "exterminator" had been sent to set traps. It makes me wonder how many other customers have had their property ruined without even knowing it. Save yourself the trouble and the ruined belongings – do NOT store your items here! ... Read more

I have rented at the West Palm Beach location for too many years. When Gator State Storage took over a few years ago, the improvements where everywhere. Lots of updates in the buildings and they are always available by phone when I can't find my gate code. I would highly recommend them. ... Read more

Great customer service and fast check in. The units were VERY cleaned the one that was shown. I never really leave reviews but you should definitely come here if you looking for that comfort and security. I like to follow up and will continue as today is my move in date and the code is not working and my movers and pods are waiting and I can't get in the gate. Also I called several time and no answer. STRESSED at this point. 3rd party service is trying to reach out to connect at 10:19am ... Read more

Great place and great customer service! I moved in this weekend and the process was super quick and easy. Units are clean and well lit. I prepaid for the year- and it literally cost less than three MONTHS rent at my previous facility (same size unit). The vending machine inside was a definite bonus as we were really hot and thirsty after a day of moving lol. 10/10 would recommend! ... Read more

I've got nothing but good things to say about this place. I recently met one of the new management /owners by the name of Oliver. He is really down-to-earth and seems to care about good customer service. That is really rare around here. 5 stars! ... Read more

I left a review a few months ago because rats had ate a bunch of my stuff. I had to throw away TONS of stuff. The owner gave me a $20 discount on the next month. To "rectify" the situation ?? And he let me move my unit. I deleted my review because Brian is awesome and has been GREAT! I'm editing my review however, because my rent has gone up TWICE this year from $45, to $82! I went there today and theres STILL rats! Feces all over...rat traps with cat food. I have rented from the previous owners collectively for over a decade! Its CRAZY to me how the owner can RAISE the rent DOUBLE when they STILL HAVE A RAT PROBLEM! Edit: I moved out OVER a month ago and these people are STILL trying to charge me!! Save yourself the headache! For $10 more, I got a much NICER spot, that is double the size!! ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
