What customers are saying

4.7/5 - 900 Reviews

Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage at 300 NW 36th Street, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

This facility represents one of the most disappointing storage experiences in Miami-Dade County. Parking and Access: Accessing the property, particularly on weekends, is extremely difficult. The parking area is consistently overcrowded, and vehicles—including large trucks—often block the entry and exit points near the doors, creating unnecessary congestion and safety issues. After regular business hours, no carts or dollies are available, forcing customers to bring their own equipment—an unacceptable inconvenience for a facility of this size. Elevators: The elevator system is inefficient and poorly maintained. Only one elevator appears to operate at a time, and users must input an access code, call the elevator, and wait for it to complete its full cycle before anyone else can use it. Even then, the elevators are unreliable. Several have loose or missing screws, unstable panels, and no handrails—conditions that pose potential safety and compliance concerns. Cleanliness and Facilities: The restroom facilities are consistently unsanitary and poorly maintained. Toilet paper and soap are frequently unavailable, and the space is generally unpleasant to use and unavailable after hours. Additionally, it is common to see individuals who are not customers loitering or using the restrooms, which further contributes to an unsafe and unprofessional environment. Storage Units: The storage units are not accurately represented in size. Structural poles and other fixtures obstruct the usable space, making it difficult to store and organize items efficiently. Customer Service: Customer service at this location is entirely unacceptable. Staff members regularly ignore phone calls, and on multiple occasions, I have personally had the phone hung up on me while attempting to ask basic questions about my unit. I have also witnessed staff intentionally ignoring ringing phones or hanging up to avoid answering calls. Their behavior demonstrates a complete lack of professionalism, accountability, and respect for customers. Given the consistent negligence, poor communication, and unprofessional conduct displayed by the staff, the current employees and management team should be replaced immediately. There is clearly no sense of leadership, customer care, or operational oversight at this facility. Overall: This location fails to meet the most basic expectations for customer service, cleanliness, and safety. A full review of the facility’s management and staff performance is urgently needed. ... Read more

There were many good employees here, but William was the best. As soon as I got there, he saw that we needed help and helped in a very generous and thoughtful manner. The way that he helped us was not only beneficial, but also very smart. We exchange number so that I can always have his support and help when needed. He really made us feel like family and just a short amount of time. ... Read more

This place will raise your rent until you can't afford it no more or they auction your things. I have been there for years and the management is really nice, the Spanish supervisor lady is great. This company raises rent randomly and if you got it on auto pay but they raised the rent and you didn't cover, they hit you with a late fee on top of that. I pay $120 for a 5by5, it was $44 when I started. Update: After this review, This company made an honest attempt to better my situation and I am grateful for that and had to revise my review because they have made things better. Thank you. ... Total rip off! 5x5 $170/month! Up from $60. Had to keep paying until I finally got all my stuff out. Find a different place. Every time I went there were droves of people getting out of dodge. Hope this helps and beware of the scam pricing. Oh yeah and as I was checking out the representative was reviewing a theft and was telling the gentleman who was renting they’re not liable!!! The man had to plead with the rep to review camera footage. I don’t know what became of the issue but I’m just glad I got the hell out! ... Read more

Unsafe and Unprofessional — Avoid at All Costs! I recently had a terrible experience at the Public Storage location at 300 NW 36th St, Miami, FL. When I first arrived on a weekend around 2 PM, I was immediately concerned. As I approached the gate, I saw two individuals who were very clearly homeless accessing the facility without any apparent oversight. Given the location near downtown and the prevalent homelessness in the area, I went straight to the front desk to ask about my reservation and to confirm that no one was living in the units. The staff assured me this wasn’t the case, and since they offered flexible cancellations, I decided to give it a chance. Unfortunately, that was a mistake. The reception staff were unprofessional—though I suppose that’s not entirely surprising in Miami. I noticed that the facility only had three dollies, which were oddly kept inside the reception area. When I returned around 5:15 PM to start unloading some items, the situation only got worse. There were two cars parked inside and more sketchy individuals walking through the gate with no belongings—raising serious red flags. I needed a dolly for my three boxes, so I went to the front desk. Before I even stepped inside, the staff member yelled at me, “Ma’am, what are you doing?! We are closed!” When I explained I just needed a dolly, he rudely informed me that the area—and the dollies—were off-limits after hours. Apparently, they lock up the dollies because people steal them. That was the last straw. I immediately requested a refund and canceled my unit. The primary reasons for my cancellation were: • Rude and unprofessional staff: Yelling at a customer is unacceptable. • Inaccessible equipment: How can you safely move items into a storage unit without a dolly? • Serious safety concerns: I felt incredibly unsafe. It’s evident that homeless individuals are living in the units. They were walking openly in front of the reception area, and the staff did nothing about it. If you are a woman or anyone concerned about safety, avoid this location—especially if you’re alone or unarmed. The environment felt dangerous, and I wouldn’t be surprised if someone ended up getting robbed or worse. This place is a HARD PASS for me. ... Read more

Everyone at public storage here in midtown is amazing. Shoutout to William and the team, they were super professional, explained everything to me, helped me get a great unit at half the price of a local other storage facility. This place is nice, clean, well air conditioned. Everything here is great it’s a no brainer if you need storage here especially since they stay open till 9pm which is later than the average 6pm ... Alright, walked in public storage was greeted by Osiris and Fred. A extremely rude adult braced gentleman cut in front of me to grab a cart after snatching my parking spot in the lobby. Without hesitation Fred & Osiris jumped into action and went outside and made the gentleman parking in our spot vacated to another open spot and properly requested that he sign out the cart. I have never been more impressed in my 8 years of Public Storage usage. Thank You. Thank You. Thank You. Cheers and Applaud to excellent customer service from individuals who don’t need to be asked or summoned to perform their job the pinnacle of perfection. As you can clearly see in the photo the gentleman was kindly and properly directed to their proper parking space within Fire Code. Salute and Touché to the Public Storage staff. Thank You. ... Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Public Storage - 300 NW 36th Street has to offer. These amenities include Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by Public Storage - 300 NW 36th Street can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 25 to 200 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

Storage units offered by Public Storage - 300 NW 36th Street come at a variety of prices, starting from $37 per month for typically smaller units. However, larger spaces can set you back up to $739 a month.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
