I called this place after 7:30pm on Monday and they were very responsive. I spoke with Lucas & Alex and they were able to get me a spot immediately same night. When I got there, both of them were extremely responsive. I had to call multiple times for instructions and they answered each time and they made sure that I was a satisfied customer all the way to the end. ... Read more

I signed up with this storage company and paid a deposit. I was never told the deposit was non-refundable, and I never signed any contract. When I asked to move my move-in date, they charged me a second time about a month later — again, without telling me this would happen or having any signed agreement authorizing it. When I called to dispute the charge, the representative was condescending and dismissive, and they refused to refund the payment. Charging a customer without consent, with no contract in place, and then treating them rudely when they ask questions, is not acceptable. If you're considering this company, be careful — get everything in writing before you pay anything. Absolutely would not recommend due to lack of transparency and manipulation business practices. ... The new owner is writing fake reviews to make it seem like he really made improvements. Anybody who actually rents there has NOTHING good to say about this place. Until the Electrical gets fix and road get re done the correct way this place is not a good place to rent definantly not worth the price. The owner will tow your vehicle whenever he feels he picks and chooses who to mess with. he towed mmy vehicle and when it came time to confront him about it he said "I dont care" and hung up. Then kicked me out with false accusations on me with NO PROOF. I would recommend reporting this guy to the BBB ASAP. He do not care about the people putting money in his pocket There has been 3 fires under his management and his has not been there half of a year and theres no improvements ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.

To open your storage unit door, start by unlocking it, whether it uses a traditional padlock or a Bluetooth-enabled smart lock. Once unlocked, grab the bottom handle and lift or pull up the roll-up door until it’s fully open.

If you’re using the unit for the first time, make sure the lock is properly removed before opening the door to avoid damage.

Security helps protect your belongings while they’re in storage and gives you peace of mind between visits. Many self storage facilities use a combination of features such as video surveillance, gated access, on-site management, and well-lit premises to help deter unauthorized access.

At Gator State Storage - 6209 North 50th Street, available security amenities may include Security Camera, Gate, designed to help keep your items protected.

Yes, most standard vehicles can be stored in self storage units. A 10x20 unit typically provides enough space for a car, while outdoor or designated parking areas may be available for larger vehicles.

For safety reasons, most self storage facilities restrict certain items. These commonly include:

    • Hazardous, flammable, or toxic materials
    • Perishable food
    • Live plants or animals
    • Cash, firearms, or irreplaceable valuables

Always check with the facility at 6209 North 50th Street for specific restrictions and recommendations.
