I wish they were more upfront about their pricing model. All the prices you see on the website or the app are introductory and "subject to change". I originally thought that meant they would increase with the cost of rent over time - but multiple locations bumped my rent by 150% after six months like clockwork. Not mad about it. Just want to help others be aware before spending time moving their stuff around like a hobby. Prices are temporary and budget for at least double if you need a long-term solution. Other than that, the location felt relatively safe and mostly clean. You talk to a kiosk if you need any help. Thumbs up this post if you think this info is valuable. ... Read more

Every few years I like to update how awful this location is. Gate app rarely works, gate is often wide open for anyone to go in on, I got water damage from the AC on one of my inside units which they claimed was not covered, they constantly put ads/stickers on my lock blocking the water drain (I had to replace the lock twice), they claim you can bring your own and the $15 is refunded as you move out- then when I moved out they told me they don't actually offer that so no, you cannot bring your own lock, the site as a whole is not managed- in trees are growing in the gutters, door to one of my units barely opens and they refused to do anything about it, I tried to reserve a second unit and they decided it was a duplicate an cancelled my reservation then decided to charge me for it the next month (took 2 weeks of phone calls to fix that), my list could continue. I don't have a choice- I have to use this location but my experience is worse with Public storage than -literally- any other company I have every worked with. This is a terribly managed company and this has to be one of the worst sites of theirs. Worst. of. the. worst. If you can avoid it, do not do business. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.

To open your storage unit door, start by unlocking it, whether it uses a traditional padlock or a Bluetooth-enabled smart lock. Once unlocked, grab the bottom handle and lift or pull up the roll-up door until it’s fully open.

If you’re using the unit for the first time, make sure the lock is properly removed before opening the door to avoid damage.

Security helps protect your belongings while they’re in storage and gives you peace of mind between visits. Many self storage facilities use a combination of features such as video surveillance, gated access, on-site management, and well-lit premises to help deter unauthorized access.

At Public Storage - 4775 Alabama Road NE, available security amenities may include Security Camera, Gate, Onsite Manager, designed to help keep your items protected.

Yes, most standard vehicles can be stored in self storage units. A 10x20 unit typically provides enough space for a car, while outdoor or designated parking areas may be available for larger vehicles.

    • Hazardous, flammable, or toxic materials
    • Perishable food
    • Live plants or animals
