Having to move for any reason is hard however my experience the other day was top notch at Public Storage. The young lady (Denise) was so professional, knowledgeable and sweet. She made sure I had everything I needed, knew where my storage was. It was clean and ready.. 10/10 recommend. ... Read more

?I couldn’t be happier with my experience at this facility. Moving is stressful enough, but Tammy here at this location made the storage part completely seamless. I'm just so grateful she was there to guide me through the process, it took such a load off. ... Read more

Google “Public Storage rate increase” or “Public Storage bait and switch” and read the hundreds of stories of PS raising rates significantly just months after you move in. And the criminal thing about it is that they are not raising rates across the board. They are arbitrarily raising the rates of new customers. The first increase is almost always 50% or more, which is huge. Within a year of you being a customer, your rates will have at least doubled if not more. There is absolutely no justification for the amount of increase. They are just banking on the fact that most people won’t go through the trouble of moving. It’s the most unethical business practice in the market today. Public Storage has lost many class action lawsuits over this, but they continue the practice. It absolutely will happen to you if you sign up. You have been warned. ... Read more

Tell Me Lies, Tell Me Lies, Tell Me Sweet Little Lies!! This disclaimer on Public Storage’s website is not true - “Reserving your unit is completely risk-free.” The caveat for that statement is (unlike other transparent storage companies) that if you complete the reservation by holding it with your payment information you have automatically entered into an agreement and will not be refunded for the “administrative fee” even if you never rent with them. Cha-Ching! Be careful! I ultimately ended up going with another storage company because their website clearly allows you to select whether you want to proceed with reserving only OR securing the unit right then. I have rented from Public Storage multiple times over the last decade, but they have received their LAST $30 donation from me. ... Read more

The Public Storage website support page was one of the most abysmal help forums I have encountered. No option for a live Support assistant, the option menus are limited and use circular logic to seemingly frustrate the caller so they just give up. The only way I found to obtain help was to pretend I wanted to pay my bill, so I got a live agent, so I could then work directly with them to resolve my issue. 1 at best. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.

To open your storage unit door, start by unlocking it, whether it uses a traditional padlock or a Bluetooth-enabled smart lock. Once unlocked, grab the bottom handle and lift or pull up the roll-up door until it’s fully open.

If you’re using the unit for the first time, make sure the lock is properly removed before opening the door to avoid damage.

Security helps protect your belongings while they’re in storage and gives you peace of mind between visits. Many self storage facilities use a combination of features such as video surveillance, gated access, on-site management, and well-lit premises to help deter unauthorized access.

At Public Storage - 230 West Village Drive, available security amenities may include Security Camera, Gate, Onsite Manager, designed to help keep your items protected.

Yes, most standard vehicles can be stored in self storage units. A 10x20 unit typically provides enough space for a car, while outdoor or designated parking areas may be available for larger vehicles.

For safety reasons, most self storage facilities restrict certain items. These commonly include:

    • Hazardous, flammable, or toxic materials
    • Perishable food
    • Live plants or animals
