I've been renting multiple units here for 7 years. Now that I go to move out of one unit they refuse to prorate the rent for the 2 extra days I need. "sorry nothing we can do about that you'll have to pay for the whole month". They have no problem prorating when you move in though, makes perfect sense right.... ... Read more

The owners are nice, facilities are well kept , however not at the fault to them, I was charged $100 for a month of storage, and wasn't reimbursed when I had all my items moved out the last day of the month. I forgot to take off my autopay and was charged a full month after all my items were moved out. Upper management said there was nothing they could do and it was in the contract to let them know before I moved my items. Blatant cash grab to not just give me money back. I would understand if I left my items in there 2 weeks into the month, but the fact I wasn't refunded says it all about upper management. ... Read more

The people that wrote the negative reviews need to think about how crazy this winter was! I'm sure every storage complex had the same issues! Did you talk to the management! i couldn't get into my storage unit due to the snow. I even had water in my unit because someone next to me threw snow up against my door. I spoke to the management, they dug out the snow for me and helped dry out my unit and gave me a month for free. Everyone has issues, it's how they deal with them that makes the person or the business. Good luck to all Californians who are trying to integrate their way of thinking to the Boise area. The good always prevails! :) ... Read more

Horrible. After a large snowstorm, the only snow that was removed was a small path down both sides of the aisles, leaving a huge snow pile down the middle and 3 foot tall by three foot wide piles of ice in front of each unit door that had slid off the roof. We attempted to remove it ourselves but with two of us shoveling for over two hours we were only able to remove half of it. It took two weeks for those piles to be removed so the doors could be accessed, only for the ice to be push into the middle of the aisle. We were trying to vacate our unit with time constraints due to our schedule; we told the employees that we did not want to pay the following month is we were unable to vacate due to the lack of snow removal (we first attempted to vacate on the 13th). We were told even if we were unable to vacate due to their horrible service, we still had to pay the following month. We had a restored vintage truck in our unit that needed to be put on a trailer. After over two weeks of not being able to vacate our unit the ice from in front of our door was removed. The facility is done removing snow I believe, and yet the path to our unit was not large enough for our trailer to fit down. With hours of hard work, we were able to inch the truck out, turning it sharply to miss the huge snow pile in the middle and place it on a trailer. We asked for a refund and the company was extremely uncooperative, said no and offered zero help. We were not given the owners name or number when we asked for it. This is by far the worst service I have ever encountered and this is the first negative review I have ever written. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Republic Storage - 9044 West State Street has to offer. These amenities include Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Online Payment and RV Storage. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
