Pro: Area and unit space are clean. Con: rent goes up drastically high every few months. When trying to cancel, the front desk doesn’t return your calls. Now it’s the 1st they want to charge a whole month rent even though you been calling for 2 days prior to the new month to ask how to cancel the unit. The front desk doesn’t answer customers messages or phone calls. ... Read more

I have had several storage units over time with other storage companies but reached out to Public Storage for a specific need. I found one of their units which served my purpose and rented it. The agent told me that Public Storage would email me the access code before my move in date. This did not happen and I needed to contact the front desk to get one so that I could move in. The agent also told me that periodically Public Storage can increase my rate based on a "market adjustment" which I was not too thrilled about... The unit was basically clean but I did sweep up some dust and dirt left in the unit. The unit also had a light on the ceiling but the bulb was burned out so I had to replace it myself. The overhead door was difficult to rise so I added some lubricant to it and now it works better but not great... All in all, I will continue to monitor the storage unit and my monthly rate over the next few months to see if I have made a good choice with Public Storage... ... Read more

Please do not rent here, your rent will increase drastically. Property management is very nice, but she is unable to help with the significant increase that will happen at the 3 month mark. I’m on my second year, I originally had two units, but consolidated to 1 the 2nd year because I was paying almost $500 a month. Prices are jacked up due to “supply and demand”, I’m talking going from $150.00 a month to $207.00 a month and that just for one unit. (10x20) I immediately called after receiving the increase notice to see if there was something that could be done. After the phone call I received a message that said: “ Great news, we are DELAYING the increase in your monthly payments.” I thought thank god the “delay” will help me! Now most people would take that is they are delaying jacking up their monthly price, after speaking to multiple customer service reps who told me it was a glitch in their system, the message needed to be fixed and speaking with the regional manager, who spoke to me like I was an idiot for misunderstanding the message; it turns out all it meant was they are taking $12 off of the initial increase of $207. So instead of going from $150 to $207 I will be charged $194 for the next 3 months. Gee thanks. Icing on the cake is when you go online there rates that they’re selling the same unit for are less than the rate you are paying for. I understand having a storage unit is not cheap, but this price gouging is just terrible. PS I also had my unit damaged, my garage door had been smashed in. I have no idea how long it was like that, but I was assured that it was just recent because they do daily “walk throughs”. It’s terrible how major companies like this take advantage of people by outrageously increasing prices. In the end, I was better off to just sell everything and re-buy when I purchased my next home. With the money I have spent in storage units I could’ve furnished three houses. ... Read more

I've called several other storage places and were discouraged with their rude nonchalant behavior. I called this Public Storage facility and got the most attentive and pleasant young man, Robert, who was knowledgeable and empathetic. I'm happy to say that I got everything I needed to wrap, pack, and store my belongings. I am definitely satisfied and would absolutely refer this facility to my family and friends. Thank you Robert for your time, cooperation, and patience. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Public Storage - 280 Main Place has to offer. These amenities include Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by Public Storage - 280 Main Place can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 75 to 200 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

Storage units offered by Public Storage - 280 Main Place come at a variety of prices, starting from $70 per month for typically smaller units. However, larger spaces can set you back up to $233 a month.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
