Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage at 1916 North Elston Avenue, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Service here was very disappointing. I came in with my mother to get a storage unit, and since we’ve never rented one before, we had a few questions. The front desk employee was extremely rude to both of us. She had AirPods in the entire time (not sure if she was listening to music or on a call), and every question we asked was met with an attitude, as if we were an inconvenience. She then asked us if we were going to sign up or not because she needed to go to lunch. Overall, the experience felt unprofessional and unwelcoming. ... Read more

Looking for a place where your belongings can disappear without a trace—and without anyone lifting a finger to help? Welcome to Public Storage on Elston. Someone broke into my unit, cut my lock off with a saw, and stole everything I owned. Did staff notify me? Of course not. I had the privilege of discovering the crime myself when I stopped by. You know—because surprise theft builds character. The staff proudly claim they “check locks every day.” That’s impressive, considering my unit had clearly been broken into about a week or two earlier. So either these daily lock checks are fictional, or a completely destroyed lock somehow blends right in. Either way, accountability was nowhere to be found. And here’s the best part: staff later confirmed the break-in was done by someone who does NOT even own a unit at this facility. So yes—apparently anyone can just stroll in, grab a saw, and go shopping. Security? Vibes only. When the police instructed me to go into the office to review security footage, I did—only to be told they “don’t have time” because they have other things to do. They then tried to brush me off by saying I’d need to come back with a detective, which is a fascinating new rule considering I was just there the other day reviewing footage with them—no detective required. Amazing how policies suddenly appear when accountability does. Totally understandable, of course. Clearly those “other things” include not protecting customer property, not monitoring who enters the building, and not helping victims of theft. If you’re considering storing your belongings here, don’t. Unless you enjoy being robbed and then treated like an inconvenience afterward. The two property managers in particular were impressively useless—an absolute masterclass in how not to handle a security incident. Public Storage should really update their slogan to: “We store your stuff… until someone else takes it.” ... Read more

MY UNIT GOT BROKEN INTO . NO ONE CALLED ME EVER . I discovered it on my own. THEY ARE NEVER IN THE OFFICE DURING WORK HOURS. They always have a nasty attitude! I had to get the district manager to help me. the women working there REFUSE to let me review footage After setting up a second day and time with the district manager to come back in to review the Cameras .Half my belongings got stolen , valuables and memories I’ve had for YEARS I can’t NEVER get back . they don’t care because it’s not their stuff they claim they checked the locks often and do round , that’s a LIE because if you did then you would have discovered my unit was broken into. But they never did or called me. If you care for ur stuff please don’t put ur stuff in this storage unit . ... Read more

I’ve been with this place for a year and I have nothing but good things to say. Betty is such a sweetheart and will go the extra 2 miles just to help you. She’s very polite and professional. Every time I call her with a problem she’s willing to help me. She definitely deserves a raise for what she brings to the company. ... Read more

I’ve been renting here for less than 2 years and have experienced 2 steep price increases. Upon moving things into the unit on 8/1, I noticed that half of my belongings and expensive equipment were covered in mold that I had to immediately toss. I moved out that same day because of this and they are expecting me to pay for the full month. This facility is not climate controlled and tenants are not notified of any water leaks until you see them and/or your things get moldy. Very frustrating having to deal with this and will no longer be returning to Public Storage. ... Read more

NOT climate controlled, every time we went in there to load our unit, usually (5-8PM) it was soooo hot and humid we came out sweating like we were in a sauna. The entrance into the facility is a bump/step that you have to pull your dolly over. Definitely should be evened out by the facility or made into a ramp. It’s very difficult to maneuver over it with your heavy items placed on the dolly. None of the doors stay open on their own, people never returned the dollys where they belong. Staff is nice, facility is kept clean for the most part. It is one of the more affordable places in the area, but facility definitely needs some TLC. ... Read more

I strongly recommend not to use. My family photos and records were water-damaged when an unprotected sprinkler line broke. I got a notice from them while on vacation. The company takes no responsibility. As I was moving my precious wet things out, another user was complaining about rat feces. Be aware that anything you store there is subject to damage and if that happens, no one will help you. ... Read more

This stoarage facility is fantastic. Very clean, organized, super easy to access (both in person), plus the app/online experience is great. Best of all is the sweet, kind, helpful Tiffany who runs the front office. She's such a pleasure to work with, always smiling and willing to assist. While a storage facililty may just seem like a commodity, customer service, ease of use with technology can really make a difference. I highly recommend Public Storage. And again, thank you Tiffany! ... Read more

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Public Storage - 1916 North Elston Avenue has to offer. These amenities include Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by Public Storage - 1916 North Elston Avenue can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 25 to 150 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

Storage units offered by Public Storage - 1916 North Elston Avenue come at a variety of prices, starting from $46 per month for typically smaller units. However, larger spaces can set you back up to $267 a month.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
