If you work for a living don’t expect to see the man to pay for your storage because he’s never in the office and when he does he acts like it’s a burden on him to come in to receive your payment. Oh I’m sorry my only days off are Saturday and Sunday. ... Read more

Called and Jim answered the phone, Very polite and answered all my questions. Agreed to meet me and show me what was available and let me pick my own spot (RV Storage). Place is well kept and has 24 hour video surveillance, also located in a nice area. Prices are very reasonable for RV storage and Jim was very helpful. ... Read more

The lot is gated and protected all around, and spots are level, and wide enough/plenty of room to back in. The lot has a circle drive which makes dropping off and picking up very easy. Prices are very reasonable compared to what we found. Owner lives right by the lot / office and the lot is tucked away from the road and in the back out of sight of main traffic. We originally decided to pay month by month, then changed our mind to pay for the year, and he went ahead gave us the yearly price for the whole year even though he could have prorated it for the months we paid month by month, so it was very good of him. Just make sure to call during business hours as the phone number is his own cell phone and you may catch him out of the office. Another review here said he was "grumpy" - I found him to be very reasonable, just don't expect a whole lot of nicey-nice chit chat. Be straight forward and polite, call during business hours and he will be fine with you! :) ... Read more

I am pricing different storage units but there site doesn't have prices. I decide to find out what time they open so I can ask for prices but the site doesn't have hours listed to call. I then figure maybe the office number listed has the hours of operation on the voicemail. I call and no answer and no hours listed. I get a call back from a angry man asking what I want. I replied by asking if this was the storage place. He in turn said yes and he grumbled that he doesn't appreciate being woken up! I quickly apologized and explained that this is listed as an office phone and I was hoping for hours to be listed on the afters voicemail. He snapped back that I wasn't sorry at all. I don't know what their storage is like but I'm staying away from this company and their drama. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Scherer-s Mini Storage - 1951 Mayflower Drive has to offer. These amenities include Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Gate, Parking, Online Payment and RV Storage. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
