This man Marvin is either not smart enough to run a Popsicle stand or doing something crooked that I'm not sure the motive yet. Just last month I stopped in to pay my 3 day late unit fee at the automated kiosk. Mr Marvin calls me to his office to pay in person I explain that I always run into a mess when paying in person but he insists so here I go. I pay and he tells me all good for my unit. I return twice in that week and had been in my unit all fine and ok until the 3rd trip i return and there's a combination lock on my unit. I check the bank and it shows they chatged my account. Why lock now? Why a guy that is paid up in full? Very inconveniencing. I've also been messaged that there was no lock on my unit and driven 60 miles to see that there always was a lockon my unit.
I've had storage 3 years there and I talk to new customers who pay way less. These people abuse you. ... Read more

Shout out to Marvin Churchwell! Thanks for being a delight to talk to and helping me out with confirming I paid for the month. He's got a great sense of humor and an even better attitude. When I told him who I was and I was part of the couple he wanted to marry he laughed, said he remembered, and continued on with saying he still will. We both had a good chuckle. I called him up saying im pretty sure payment went through but I got notification stating my payment didn't, after I set up auto pay at the same time of paying. I told him i saw money was drawn from account and on my Extra Space Storage account it showed as paid but he was still willing to check for me and fix the issue. They doubled my rate after four months. When I called about this the lady I spoke with said she would give me a credit for the next month. And she would have her supervisor call me to see about getting the rate lowered at least a little bit since DOUBLING after four months is insane. Never got a call back and never got my credit for the next month. When I called after being charged the double price again the next month, the supervisor said since there was no message on the account there was no proof anyone promised me a credit so there was nothing they could do about that. He “tried” to get me a $20 refund but wasn’t sure if the higher ups would approve it. They apparently didn’t because it was never refunded back to me. I was told the prices change with the “market” however, I checked the prices online and they are selling the units the same size as mine currently for the same price I signed up for in the first place. This was not disclosed to me when I signed up. He literally told me if I moved out and signed up for another unit in my roommates name I could get the lower price but that was the only way to get it. Which is preposterous. This whole system is a scam in my opinion. And I did not appreciate being treated like a liar just because the new employee didn’t “record what she had promised me in the system”. ... Read more

Marvin, the site manager, was great! It was my first experience using a rental storage unit and I would definitely choose those one if I meed toon the future. He was friendly, personable and thorough. Having the kiosk on site there to call to get someone on the phone using just the kiosk was great when I was moving out while my phone happened to die. Everything looked good online. Cheapest rate i could fine. I reserved a unit. They called me right away to confirm and that is when I was told that in a couple of months the "web" promotion would expire and the rate for a very small unit would almost double. Nothing on thw website stated it was a promotion, nothing stated you were required to have insurance that they will provide. This is just a little review to say. BUYER BEWARE! We rented a large unit for a move Nov-Feb. We discovered when we arrived that they actually sold us two units that equaled the size we were supposed to have rented. There were three dead mice and a glue trap, and one that was decaying on the floor. But it was too late to make any changes, so we dealt with it. One unit stank so bad that I called the office no less than four times to report that something must be dead in the units surrounding it. I threw up because the stench was so bad, I was nauseous on return trips. Nothing was ever done. I considered calling law enforcement more than thrice to report a possible disposal of a homicide victim. The units we had were loaded with mice. Mice were even coming into the unit while we were loading and unloading. It was disgusting, we lost items due to rodent infestation. They even ate our foam aquarium backing! We barely used one of the units because it smelled so bad we were afraid that the smell would get into our furniture. (We stored furniture elsewhere due to the unit's condition.) Nothing was ever done about the terrible smell or the mouse population. If you use this facility, please be mindful and use plastic totes that are completely sealed. Store your furniture high up on top of items that rodents cannot climb. Be prepared to clean feces out of your possessions. Be ready to encounter dead and live mice and rats. Bring cleaning supplies and disposable towels to clean before you load. You will not be compensated or discounted for your experience. Customer service will help you if your code doesn't work, they'll take your money, but that's it. ... Read more

When contacting Extra Space the gentleman that took my information answered my numerous questions was very professional and went above and beyond. Was at the site questions about the keys came up and was cleared up with one phone call. As well as the property manager calling and checking to make sure everything worked out okay. Barely do these surveys but I believe that The customer service today warranted it. I see more and more people when they're at work thinking that they're doing you a favor doing their job. Super friendly and very knowledgeable of the business itself. Highly recommend! The only 2 complaints is the 24/7 sign needs to be removed. I came to my unit after hours and couldn’t get into the lot. I understand it is due to crime of break ins and that new owners have taken over and are working hard to make changes for a better business. And the 2nd is the numbering system desperately needs tended too. It is very confusing and is time consuming driving through the entire lot to find your unit because all the numbers are random and skip numbers in sequence making it hard to find yours.
