Read some helpful reviews of Storage Rentals of America, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

If I could rate negative I would I have never rented from a worse storage facility or dealt with a worse company then storage rentals of America. I went through them because they had what seemed like a good deal online and from day one nothing but trouble. It took me 3 days for them to figure out what key they needed to unlock my unit after I done had to move to a whole another unit. And that's just for me to move in. Then a couple months go by no issues thank God and then my storage unit gets broken into twice. Remind you they have no cameras at all no security nothing even though they send you a bogus gate code. So the first time my unit gets broken into it had to have been either a Thursday or Friday, but I didn't go there until Saturday. So obviously as soon as I get there and notice my unit has been broken into I called right away and they're closed of course I get there after hours customer service which they pretty much just tell me to get whatever is important out of there and just leave it unlocked and closed and I'll have someone call me on Monday. The whole week next week goes by nobody calls me I keep calling can't get a hold of nobody can't get no help. That weekend my unit is broken into again remind you I went and got my own locks that were supposed to be uncuttable and somehow the people cut through them. So I call back yet again after going and purchasing more locks. They tell me to file a police report it has been at least a week and a half or so since the first incident I'm not trying to bother the police with issues that happened that long ago cuz there's nothing they can do anyway so I let it go I take that loss. I was supposed to receive my second month free which of course never happens. So I contacted them about it because I knew I wouldn't have money to pay my units rent that month so I figured they would give me the month they owe me to help me out I keep calling like three or four times trying to get a hold of somebody about it and I was told pretty much that they would take care of it and I was good. Then a couple days later I get a notice in the mail saying that they had a lein on my unit I cannot access it. And that they were charging me for a auction fee twice somehow even though my stuff hasn't gone to auction and I called of course they said a manager would contact me but still hasn't happened so I'm losing everything I own. And they don't even care enough to call me back. Do not waste your time or money with them because they do not care about you and I will be filing a complaint with the BBB ... Read more

Will update later. Did have issues with a link they had sent that we needed to sign. I also believe they said a lock would be inside the unit, if so, it was missing. Will edit how the process goes. Hopefully a five star! ... Read more

The people I dealt with were friendly and did help me with ease. But when I went to the storage site. I was not pleased. There was no security gate, it's wide open and there are no security cameras. I'm not real pleased with the security of this facility. The first unit that they gave me actually had somebody else's property in it. So they gave me another unit which was empty and cleaned and no lock. I had to drive back to the main office in Elkhart Indiana to get a lock. In fact they gave me two locks. Which I am comfortable with that. But I am not comfortable with the security that is lacking at this facility. ... Read more

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

To open your storage unit door, start by unlocking it, whether it uses a traditional padlock or a Bluetooth-enabled smart lock. Once unlocked, grab the bottom handle and lift or pull up the roll-up door until it’s fully open.

If you’re using the unit for the first time, make sure the lock is properly removed before opening the door to avoid damage.
