I think if we had known a few things in advance we would have chosen a different place. The owners were fine, to be clear, and we have no issues with them, though we did not have any direct interactions with them. The units themselves are unsealed garage door spaces with no protection from insects. There is a drain in front of the doors, so I assume that prevents most water. There was a packet of rodenticide at the front of our unit, which hopefully did a good job. Our items were here for a year while we rebuilt a flooded basement. Some furniture did suffer, but we knew units were not temperature controlled going into it and we had to make a quick decision at the time. Prices were raised significantly after renting 3 months, which we were not prepared for, and which slowed down our renovation process. It snowed recently and the main drive was shoveled, but snow was left in mounds in front of all the units for more than a week. I had to stop in to grab some things and the unit next to mine's renter was there, too. She was on the phone complaining about getting her stuff over the snow hill. It was difficult. We were locked in on our first day, after about 9 hours of work getting everything out of our basement. We did not know we couldn't leave if we were behind the gate since we had the exit code as the salesman did not specify. We had to call police because there was no response to the other number. The police were able to rescue us. Now they have a warning that comes through the app, so that's good, but probably only if you install the app (which you should because you can get in and out faster). There are not really evening hours as the latest it stays open is 6pm, so that might be prohibitive to some. I'd say this place is fine for short term and not storing anything of great value since it is all exposed to temperature and humidity. One star down for the sudden price hike and lack of snow removal. ... Read more

Don't expect to get to your stuff if it snows. They don't move snow. Also be out of there before they close or you WILL BE LOCKED IN AND YOU WILL NEED TO CALL THE POLICE TO GET OUT. They don't tell you on the phone. They will randomly raise your rates too. Only positive, the facility is well kept.... except in winter Taking our stuff out. Very disappointed. ... Read more

I’ll start by saying I’m not a disgruntled Karen. I know people like to get on here and complain, but my review is factually based on the terribly ran business and management. First, we started at the Beulah church facility but needed a bigger unit so we moved to the blue lick facility. Since we have been there, we have rarely been able to get into our unit. The hours listed online are not accurate, you can’t get into your unit during those hours. Nobody is ever in the office, you just have to guess and hope somebody is there. Management is rude, she literally cut me off and yelled when I was in the middle of explaining our frustration and they never offer a solution as far as accessing our unit. The entry codes gate has been broken for over a week now and you can’t get in unless somebody is there, which is never. Or for like 2 hours a day and those hours are not made known. Hands down, the WORST business management I’ve ever dealt with, specifically, my boyfriend and I spoke with Sandy. It has been a complete joke and I’d highly recommend paying a little bit more elsewhere, because the little bit of money you save is not worth the inconvenience or rudeness you have to deal with when going through Public Storage. It has been an absolute NIGHTMARE. Beulah Church facility was way better than Blue Lick for the record, they just have limited availability for what we needed. TERRIBLE. ... Read more

Do not show up 15 minutes before closing. The gate is locked from the INSIDE at 5 pm. You WILL NEED TO CALL 911 TO GET OUT! The police have a special code to let you out. The customer service representative NEVER stressed that on the phone. They should have said "YOU WILL BE LOCKED IN" , what joke! Our basement flooded and we have had terrible day. It was only made worse by their lack of clarity. Storage unit was clean. One extra ? ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
