I'm updating my review because the management reached out to me about the issue and wanted to take responsibility. They have offered a partial refund. They acknowledged there was a disconnect and said they would address it. I appreciated the effort. This place has been a challenge from day 1. I was told it was air conditioned, it was not. When we went to get our stuff, it was covered in mouse feces and roaches. I rented it for 3 months, and I guess the end of the month to them is the 29th and not the end of the month. ... Read more

Rick and Brandon are consummate professionals. Helpful every step of the way, did not try to nickel and dime or unfairly squeeze another month's rent out of me. Unit is nice, climate control works as advertised. Dollies for moving. A+ customer service. Highly recommend ... Read more

UPDATE May 30, 2023 Raised rent on me again. I'm now paying 17% more than the price I agreed to when I signed the deal. Deal signed Nov 2019. So rent went up 17% (for me) since then. 17% in about 3.5 years. Imagine paying $1200 to rent your apartment, and just 3.5 years later, your landlord is charging you over $1400. That's a 17% increase. Seems like an unsustainable pace... Here's what's effed up... Brandon told me my unit is now actually DOUBLE what I'm currently paying. So imagine you bailed when your landlord raised the rent to $1400. Now imagine them immediately asking the next occupant for $3000 per month. THAT is the current increase in rent in 3.5 years. Wow, I'm so grateful they only charged me 17% more, instead of the "actual" 110% more Brandon said it now costs! You can take two things from this. 1) Brandon was lying to me about the more than doubling of my unit's rent, as a way of manipulating me into continuing to pay now 17% more than what I agreed to. 2) The rent has actually more than doubled in 3.5 years... There is absolutely no way their expenses more than doubled in the last 3.5 years. They are simply trying to squeeze more profits out of us. They will nickel and dime the sh*t out of you. Oh, you need 24 hr access to your stuff? That's weird! We'll add 15% for that. Oh you want insurance? We will only cover up to $2500 in loss. Lol that is a single item for a lot of the folks who keep stuff here. Then they've used clearly very cheap construction techniques (seen destroyed exterior there after multiple storms, when everything around it was fine), left a broken elevator for *multiple months*, just as they were demanding the last rent increase. These are some classy MFers. UPDATE Dec 24, 2021 A month ago, they started asking for 10% more rent. The elevator hasn’t worked for longer than that. They are raising rent a whole 10% while providing less. Wow. If that’s not bad business, I don’t know what is. Hurricane Ida damage below. Nothing else around here looked so bad. Cheap construction? ... Read more

I needed a storage close to my location and spacious enough for my belongings. The staff there was soooo helpful! They made sure I had what I needed to make my time at the storage easy. Mr Brandon spoke very clearly and was extremely patient. I thank him and the maintenance man for their assistance. I would be there again if need be. ... Read more

I've had a unit at River Road Storage Post since 2008. The service there has always been impeccable -- helpful, competent and kind -- in short, humane -- a rarity these days. I've never had a problem with the unit's security or any kind of infestation by bugs. The facility is kept clean. I highly recommend. I heartily second and third (if that's possible!) the service that Brandon provides and agree that management should give him a raise and understand what an asset he is to the company. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
