I recently rented a unit at Public Storage at 495 Newbury Street in Danvers, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. The entire process—from move-in to day-to-day access—was smooth, professional, and stress-free. The facility itself is clean, well-lit, and very secure. You can tell the team here takes great pride in maintaining the property to a high standard. But what truly made the experience stand out was Eric, the custodian. He is absolutely the best! Eric goes above and beyond to keep the place spotless, and he’s always friendly, approachable, and ready to help with a smile. He made me feel like my belongings were in good hands, and it’s clear he genuinely cares about both the facility and the customers. If you’re looking for a reliable, safe, and well-managed storage solution in the Danvers area, I highly recommend this location. Big thanks to Eric and the team for their hard work and outstanding service! ... Read more

Wow! Eric provided the best customer service I have received, ever! He was the most thoughtful, patient and helpful employee and the facility is fortunate to have him. He assisted me through registration, difficulties with my phone in signing up, talked me through every option available, showed me to my unit, supported me with using the lock for the first time and made sure all questions were answered. Thank you so much. Will recommend to anyone in need of storage in the area. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
