Have had a unit there for 30+ years, old owners were great, except they wouldn't fix the gate that every tenant had a card for, to come and go anytime time you wanted, 24/7/365. I was broke into once, from the unit next to me, they simply pushed the sheeting on the wall, and walked through the studs. Note: the unit next to me vacant and there was no lock on it. New owners came along, fixed the gate opens at 6am closes at 10pm SHARP, as the sign now says and you can almost read it at night. Not long after it was fixed, I was in the area and wanted to check my unit, couldn't remember time gate closed, 10pm ot 11, owners had sent a letter informing tenants of fix and gate operation times. The clock in my truck was set 7 minuted fast, and when I looked it said 10:05 so I figured gate closed at 11pm, drove in, checked my unit, went to leave, and gate was shut. No warning gate was going to close, llike a beeper or voice on a speaker. No way to open gate, as old gate had a sensor, .just pulled up from inside, and it would open. Called office number, got voice mail, left message. Called again, same result. Started exploring options, tear gate down with truck, disassemble somehow? Owner himself called back, told me I was stuck inside until 6am, bet him 6 months rent I wasn't, and that in 30 minutes I would begin my escape, which meant damage to the gate. He arrived in 25 minutes and I was then informed of a $50 inconvenience fee. I said you're joking right? As me and the owner were talking, inside the gate, his vehicle was outside the gate, LOL, the gate closed, and his remote was in the vehicle, ..so he had to climb the fence, and open the gate for me sgain. I received a bill from them for the $50 and called to negotiate it. Kate, ..is her name, ...dont know her title, although she did claim to be a lawyer called me back with the rudest, snottiest, "You wanted to talk to me? When I asked about the high fee she went into a tirade about having to get out of bed get dressed blah blah blah for over 3 minutes. So I then explained that one time the manager mistakenly put a lock on my unit locking me out for no reason. I called at 9am, but lock wasn't removed until 2pm, I was inconvenienced for 5 as well as 2 other people who were waiting for me to get them some camping equipment. Kate screamed that was ridiculous, and sometimes mistakes are made, and I agreed, but asked wiy my mistake was costing me $50/hr, while theirs didn't matter. Another tirade, when I said maybe we'll let a judge decide, that's when I was informed Ms. Kate was a lawyer. When I asked what she was doing working at a storage unit place if she was a lawyer, she hung up on me. I gave them my required 10 vacate notice, and a bill for $250. Guess we'll see what happens. Stay tuned.... last note: when new owners took over, they wanted me to sign a new contract, and pay another deposit. We went around about that, I filled out a new contract, but didn't pay another deposit. Kinda curious to see if they give me my old one back. Pretty sure this one is going to court. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Bay Area Storage - 3971 Bangor Road has to offer. These amenities include Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Kiosk Available, Credit Cards Accepted and Online Payment. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by Bay Area Storage - 3971 Bangor Road can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 100 to 200 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

Storage units offered by Bay Area Storage - 3971 Bangor Road come at a variety of prices, starting from $75 per month for typically smaller units. However, larger spaces can set you back up to $105 a month.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
