Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Before I signed up with PUBLIC STORAGE, I specifically asked if the rent would balloon after 90 days I was told it would not. Low and behold, with no warning or notification I was charged an extra $50. I looked all over for the notification of the rent increase and found nothing but the increase of amount due. No explanation anywhere. But I get it... Lies are hard to explain. ... Read more

Britteny helped us. She was perfect. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The rental was quick, easy, and thorough. She even walked us to the unit and made sure our key worked. She was very friendly, very professional. I found the prices reasonable and the facility was very clean. I would refer Public Storage to anyone needing storage space. ... Read more

The ONLY reason why I'm giving a 5 star review is because of Donald. He's been extremely helpful and absolutely wonderful with customer service. I've been a loyal customer for 6 years and the district manager Travis was absolutely no help at all; my unit was up for auction and he said he could take $50 off and NEVER did. Fortunately I was able to save my unit but having to pay it in full. I've had things stolen, a dead bird and a dead rat in my unit, with no empathy or compensation from the staff or corporate at that time. I should have removed everything when the new in box drone (my son's Christmas present) and a television was stolen (leaving the remote behind), but having to move everything from a 10x15 just wasn't possible for me as I was in an abusive relationship at the time and couldn't. So.... Take pictures of your unit every time you visit!!!!!! Watch your statements and emails because they'll raise your rent!!! Know that you CAN ask for them to review your account to get a cheaper rate and that you can get lien/late fees reversed, however it's taken off of next months bill and not credited back to your account. It never hurts to ask! There's still good people out there and at this location, his name is Donald! ... Read more

Not sure how this place has 4.5 stars, they must be using bots or getting fake reviews. They never came and fixed the light that was broke since getting the unit. Doors to the building are subpar. Elevator is usually broken. If that's not enough they will raise your rate after a couple months...multiple times! If you can find any where else with a decent price, I would highly recommend spending your money else where. ... Read more

If I could rate this a 0 I would! I’m so hurt, I get I was a few days late on paying my bill but they called me numerous times and I did tell them I would pay it on the 31st of may and they were cool about it (as I thought) they said that’s not a problem just make sure to pay it by then I said ok cool thank you. Well when I went to pay it on the app I saw that they left a note saying pay balance before it goes to auction or further late fees get added so I paid it. Went to my unit because Donald who is the manager at the Roseville location called me saying I needed to remove their padlock and buy a whole new key because they cut my old one ok cool no problem so I went same day I paid and when I opened my unit my stuff was knocked over and broke I’m so heart broken because the stuff that got broken was inherited from my grandfather who is no longer with me and the cup that is broke came from my best friend as a gift. I suggest nobody come here. Donald will tell you to leave a five star rating after joining them. The other problem was there was no light in my unit either I had to pull everything out just to see what they broke. I don’t wish this on anyone! ... Read more

I am disappointed for the price I pay, the doors mechanism is broke so they do not stay open while moving furniture, the elevator has not worked since I brought my stuff to storage on 12/31. If I wanted to have a first floor unit, it would be an additional $35. I watched an elder person struggle to get his belongings down the stairs and am surprised he didn't have a heart attack. I should have explored more options because I definitely would have went elsewhere. ... Read more

If I could give a Zero I would. I rented here for 1 year (July 2023 to July 2024). During this time, this is what happened to me: 1. The light in my unit never worked and they could not get anyone to replace the bulb. I went a full year without a light. So there’s your maintenance 2. The outside door was broken for months where anyone could just walk in. One door is still broken. There goes security. 3. The elevator for the second floor has been broken for a month with no estimated date to fix. I was on the second floor and I hated this place so much, I moved out using the stairs. 4. They raised my rent $45 in 12 months and I’m sure they were ready to do it again. I was told by one person to plan atleast $20 to $30 every 6 months. 5. The place constantly smells like marijuana. Not just at the doors. Actually inside everywhere. 6. There is never the same person working there. I would go in to address the above and it was always someone new saying “I’m sorry, I’m from another location and I will note account”. This is if anyone was even there. Final note: I did the auto pay and they got paid every month on time. I never turned it off all the way until I left. So no excuses for the above when they were paid. I would not recommend this place and good luck if you do. ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
