Mpls Storage January 1, 2022 If one does the research, or has rented in Public Storage somewhere, one may find that there are rules given to you when you rent a space to store belongings. Private storage, whether it be in someone’s home or in a rental facility, also has rules and safeguards different from Public Storage. Prices are lower in Private Storage. As an individual who has used both, I prefer the Private Storage locker called `Mpls Storage. In Public Storage, the unit rented costs approximately double for the size at a privately owned storage unit. In addition, one pays more for 24 hour access. This means you can come and go any time of day or night. You may be subject to vetting so that you are deemed to be unlikely to harass other storage users. When working for a political campaign, it was important to have accessibility late after fundraisers to be able to store equipment etc. Still, there are persons who may accost you who have no business being inside. They may enter along with a vehicle unnoticed and sneak up on you even though there are many cameras there. I found this very unsettling! There are buzzers to push to get help, which is useful, but still unnerving. It takes some time for the police to arrive. There may be homeless who rent a unit and live in it, though that is not legal. Litter is hard to avoid in public storage. Trucks or cars may hem you in if you’re in a hurry and you have to try to find the people who are moving in or out to get them to move their vehicle so you can leave, with little or no help from the office staff. In Mpls. Storage, which is a family-owned business, the rules are clearly written, and you are given a copy upon rental. You are expected to show up on time for an appointment to visit your storage unit. The facility is kept clean, carts are always available to help move your belongings to or from your vehicle to your unit. I have rented in this facility for over ten years, at half the price of Public Storage. I have never encountered anyone who does not belong there. This is a clean facility in which I feel safe. H. We had an awful experience renting from this place. We rented for 4 months earlier this year. They were rude from the get-go. When we showed up to try to do business with them, they turned us away and told us to come back the next day because they were too busy (utterly unprofessional). Then whenever we called ahead to schedule appointments in order to access our stored property, they always acted like we were imposing on their time even though our appointments were during their business hours. They were consistently in a bad mood when we visited to access our things and we felt like we had to walk on eggshells on the property though we were fully paying customers. Lastly, do not rent from this place if your intended move-out date or the last day of the month happens to fall on a Sunday. They are closed on Sundays and will not work with you to pro-rate to move out on the 1st. When I made this request explaining that my new lease for the house I intended to rent didn't begin until the 1st which fell on a Monday, I was rudely shut down and told that if I moved out on the first, I would have to pay a full-month's rent and further advised I should just move out a week before my new lease started (and store my things where in the interim???!!!) I had to move out on a Saturday and pay 2 additional days/nights of a Uhaul rentail in order to have a place to store my things while I got access to my new place on the 1st. They are not flexible or willing to work with you if you end up in this tricky situation so plan ahead or avoid them. ... Read more

I would definitely recommend MPLS Storage to anyone in need of storage needs. I needed affordable and secure storage and was able to calm the stress with the helpful and professional individuals that provided this service. I talked/met with three different employees and was treated with respect at all times. There were no strings attached or hidden agendas with dealing with this company. If the need ever comes up again, I know I will be returning here. ... Read more

MPLS storage was a pleasure to work with. We rented a large storage unit there for 18 months and could not have wanted better service. They were outstanding in every aspect from friendliness to billing. The units were clean and secure. Jared was always very helpful when moving stuff in and out too. He offered us water and was even helpful to our movers. The price was right too. Great storage facility! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that MPLS Storage - 3138 Snelling Avenue South has to offer. These amenities include Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Gate and Multi-Level Storage. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by MPLS Storage - 3138 Snelling Avenue South can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 25 to 300 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

Storage units offered by MPLS Storage - 3138 Snelling Avenue South come at a variety of prices, starting from $60 per month for typically smaller units. However, larger spaces can set you back up to $275 a month.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
