This review will be updated pending resolution of my issue. It has been 2 months and Bradford Mini Storage continues to ignore my phone calls and messages about returning my unit deposit. I rented from this facility for a couple of years and had great communication with them about monthly payments so I never anticipated this would be the outcome. I was last told that the owner needed to sign the check for my refunded deposit to be sent to me and that was a month ago. Now no one will answer or return my calls or voicemails from the past month. I will likely give it one more week to hear from them before I look to pursue action in small claims court. Even though I’ll pay to file, it’s become the principle of the thing at this point. ... Bradford Storage closed my account and locked me out before my contract was up and without any notification! I rented a storage facility on 6/17 and got the “promotion” of buy a month and get a month free of storage and paid up until 8/17. I was able to get things out of storage on 8/10 (Sunday) and I called the next day 8/11 (Monday) to give them notice that I was finished utilizing the storage shed so they could go ahead and rent the unit out prior to the end of my contract, which was supposed to end on 8/17. The manager stated she knew who I was and stated that I would not be getting my deposit back and that she had already closed out my account since she noticed I had already cleaned it out. I told her I called to give her the required notice she stated I needed to make, prior to the contract’s end and she told me I would get no deposit back since my things were already moved out of the storage facility and since she already closed it out. I told her I did not even ask her to close it out. She stated I need to give at least a day’s notice before I got my stuff out of storage. (Not sure why they think I would have to notify them for me to move my own stuff) I once again told her I was giving her 6 days notice and I had not asked her to close it out and technically, I should still have the right to put things in there until the contract ended on 8/17 and she said she had already closed it out so I wouldn’t be getting any deposit back and that I didn’t even have a storage facility at this point. The manager was rude, difficult to understand, and refused to let me speak with any superior regarding this customer service issue. She later called back and said she talked with her superior and said even if they could re-issue the contract, they would now require a 10 day notice to vacate. After checking the contract, it did state I would provide a written notice 10 days before vacating, which contradicted what the manager had originally told me. I should have read every detail of the contract, instead of taking management’s word that I would just need to provide a day’s notice. So, I take responsibility for that part. I understand not getting my deposit back but my account was closed out and I was denied access to my paid storage shed before I gave them any type of notice I didn’t need the facility anymore. The manager apparently just assumed I wouldn’t be bringing anything else to store in the shed and immediately, without contacting me, closed my account and denied me access. Had I needed to put other things in storage, I would have been unable to. I thought I was being nice giving them a full 6 days notice with a clean storage shed for them to rent to the next person, when I thought all I needed to give was a day’s notice, according to the manager. Other than the lies from management and refusal for me to explain myself to someone else, the storage facility itself was ok. You can’t read any numbers on the dial pad to get into the secured gate as they were all worn off. I had to memorize where the numbers were on a keypad. You also have to park your car, get out and walk to the keypad and punch in the code and get back in your car and drive through the gate to get to your storage shed. You do the same thing upon leaving. It would have been much easier if they had put the keypad where you could access it from your vehicle. This had been a bad experience and I will never rent from Bradford Storage in Springfield ever again. I feel sorry for anyone that has to deal with the management of the facility. Do not trust anything they tell you; read every bit of the contract you sign, before signing and keep a copy of the contract. ... Read more
