I am not a happy camper my locker was broken into and almost everything I own was stolen. I'm out at least $25,000 worth of possessions. Their electric gate and security cameras are not much help. I will be looking into my legal recourse options. I thought I had my possessions in the secure location. If you are storing property anywhere you should check on it monthly if not weekly these people broke off my lock and put a different lock on the locker and probably made several trips to wipe me out.... ... Everone here is always super friendly and they now accept credit and debit which is a huge plus. They always call me if my rent is a few days late and are super sweet - not rude or condescending. Prices are competitive and certainly worth the experience. ... Read more

Don't go here. Our locker has been broken into twice in the last 3 years. It appears there is no night guard on duty. They have a sign stating they have a guard dog. They do not have a dog. They're response to the theft of our contents is " We are sorry but there is nothing we can do. Make a police report". There is a homeless camp along the entire West side of this place. It should be named, Pick and Steal. ... Read more

I would not recommend this storage facility to a friend. I have not had my unit burglarized and I really like the added security of the gate, but there are several more cons than pros. The first con would be that they do not accept debit or credit. That was fine for me, but it makes it a little more difficult to make payments when you are use to digitally paying your bills. That being said, I would expect the facility to call me if I were running late with my payment or especially if something were to happen to my unit. I would just like to know that they would be able to communicate with me in such scenarios. Anyway they have very poor communication skills. When I first purchased the unit from the owner I expected to get a phone call or a bill for the next month's payment, instead towards the end of the next month I received a paper stating I had received a late fee. I went into thier office and asked why they had not called me or given me any sort of reminder. The owner told me she had called my number but it was not in service. I checked the number she had written down for me in her contact file and it was wrong. She then waived the late fee. This happened a second time without me receiving a phone call. When I went into the office to address the late fee that was added to my account the lady told me that she had notated in her file that I was late with my first payment so she did not bother to call me. I reminded her she did not call me the first time because she had taken down my phone number wrong. She did not care and made me pay the late fee. I then paid for my storage unit I believe 7 months in advance to cover the rest of the year and asked her to notate to call me next year to remind me of payment. Well it's next year and it's been 7 months and I received another bill stating I missed my payment and I have received a late fee again. I could understand this sort of treatment if I was not constantly paying for the unit, but I paid the owner last year 7 months in advance as an act of good faith and there is still no courtesy call. It makes this business appear they value money rather than catering and providing a quality service to their customers. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Parkcrest Self Storage - 700 West Republic Road has to offer. These amenities include Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Security Camera and Gate. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
