Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

I have been calling this Public Storage site manager for two months and no one picks up the phone no matter when you call. I have been sick and needed assistance paying my storage unit rent. I called Public Storage corporate office yesterday and they sent me over to customer service who reached out to the site manager by email. Still no call back from the this Public Storage’s site manager. I have tried everything to coordinate payment and move out because I have been sick for months. I also tried using the app but every time I make a payment for my storage unit rent, additional rent fees are added. My rent increases every other month with no notice. I live out of state and trying to contact the site manager is important but whoever the site manager is never answers the phone. I just got a notice last night that they now want me to pay $415 this month for rent and additional fees just for one month. The space I got was supposed to be $50 a month. ... Read more

I wish I could give zero stars. Please don't do business with this company. No property manager on site the dozen times I tried to stop by, called the number on the door and I got someone in California. You have to reserve, and pay for your unit online. Huge red flag!!! Completed my rental and had to call California three more times to get a gate code. Finally located unit only to find that the lock I paid for was not inside. Called California again and was told to just start opening up unused units until I find a lock and key???? Facility is extremely dirty, obviously the hang out spot, drug paraphernalia everywhere, visible security issues. I opted not to utilize the unit and they wouldn't even give me a refund. They refunded me for the lock because it wasn't in the unit but kept the rest of my money. Even though I called immediately and explained the situation and the condition of the property. Disgusting and unethical! ... Read more

    Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

Climate-controlled storage units maintain consistent temperature and humidity levels, helping protect items from damage caused by heat, cold, or excess moisture.

You may want climate control if you’re storing items that can be sensitive to temperature changes, such as furniture, clothing, appliances, paperwork, photographs, artwork, electronics, or wood and leather goods. These units are especially useful for long-term storage or in areas with hot summers, cold winters, or high humidity.

If you’re storing durable items like tools or outdoor gear, a standard unit may be sufficient. When in doubt, climate control offers added protection and peace of mind.
