Read some helpful reviews of I-94 Self Storage, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Buyer beware: I was in a hurry to move my stuff to a storage unit so I paid a few friends to move my stuff to a unit at I94 storage. After they moved my stuff I visited the storage unit only to find a hole in the unit bigger than my foot. Probably about the size of a basketball. I immediately called the office. They offered to let me move to a different unit although they didn't think it was a big deal. Since I had already paid to have my stuff moved and didn't have the money or time to move it by myself I decided to let it go. I setup auto pay and forgot about it. At some point I had to cancel auto pay because I wasn't able to pay one month. After that I kinda forgot all about the unit and I believe I stopped paying. I hadn't received any letters or phone calls until one day I received a certified letter after one or two years of non-payment. At that point I decided that since there was a hole in the unit and I have no idea what kind of shape my possessions in the unit were in I didn't even bother reading the letter because I assumed that they were notifying me they were going to be auctioning off the unit if I didn't pay. I refuse to pay for a unit just to find out that all of my stuff was ruined due to the hole in my unit. Rather than fixing the hole they wanted me to spend more time and money to move my stuff to a different unit and that's not what I signed up for. It breaks my heart that I will be losing my possessions but I see no reason to pay them without first knowing that my stuff was not ruined because of the hole in the unit. I would never rent from them again. They rented me a unit that had a hole in it. Did they not know about the hole? Or did they know and think it was not a big deal? Either way the fact that they let me spend so much money, time, and effort to move into that unit is unacceptable. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

The right storage unit size depends on what you plan to store and how much space you need to move around your items.

5x5 or 5x10 units are great for smaller loads, such as chairs, lamps, small furniture pieces, boxes, books, and documents.

10x10 or 10x15 units work well for larger furniture, bicycles, appliances, and the contents of a small apartment.

10x20 or 10x30 units can typically fit the contents of a three-bedroom home, including large furniture and multiple appliances.

If you’re unsure which size is best, a unit size calculator can help estimate the right fit based on the items you’re planning to store – helping you avoid paying for more space than you need.

To open your storage unit door, start by unlocking it, whether it uses a traditional padlock or a Bluetooth-enabled smart lock. Once unlocked, grab the bottom handle and lift or pull up the roll-up door until it’s fully open.

If you’re using the unit for the first time, make sure the lock is properly removed before opening the door to avoid damage.
