Stopped by to rent a unit to store my motorcycle in. I was advised that they didn't have any of the smaller units I was interested in renting available but they did have the next size up. Fair enough. I said I would take the larger one. There was a long pause during which the woman looked over some maps and other documents. Finally she indicated that she was pretty sure she only had the one and had called someone earlier to see if they were still interested in it. This person had inquired about it a while ago but had apparently never called back to confirm (nor, by the sounds of it, put any sort of deposit on it). She then asked if I could maybe come back tomorrow when she would know if this other person still wanted it. A bit flummoxed I pointed out that I was already here and ready to pay them now (literally holding my wallet in my hand). But apparently she felt it was more important to wait to hear back from someone who had not even shown enough interest to come there in person or follow up on their original call. I then stated I would just take my business elsewhere and began to leave. The woman then stated "well there's always a waiting list" which struck me as a very suspect thing to say as she had told me just before that she was surprised they didn't have any of the smaller units as they were "harder to rent." Seems like if you "always" have a waiting list then nothing is hard to rent. Additionally, since the website specifically states all units require a $20 deposit, their own policies would indicate a cash in hand customer should take priority. Just a complete lack of professionalism across the board. ... Read more

Decent place for the price. I rent out two units over there one is climate control the other is not. I've had some problems with the climate control unit during the winter. My stuff has frozen solid. So some of the material I had stored there during the winter for work went bad and I no longer can use on a job. But Boscawen mini storage has reimbursed me on a majority of the material. ... This company has the best prices I've seen in self storage. Their only fault is that they only ever have one person working there at a time and due to this, the office is often locked up and the employee can only be found if you search through the rows of storage lockers. I've had to go to the office about 5 times a month to successfully be able to pay my bill and often results in me getting a late fee. Due to this fact, I frequently get frustrated because aren't I paying for not only the locker but also the customer service? As the employees are very kind and polite, they can't possibly be harder to find. For these reasons, I give this company three stars because they have been very inconvenient. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a wide array of amenities available for the storage units that Boscawen Mini-Storage - 146 King Street has to offer. These amenities include Climate-Controlled, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Parking and First Floor Access. Most of these amenities can prove to be very useful depending on what you need to store. For example, climate-controlled units can come in handy for keeping sensitive items, drive-up access can make your loading and unloading process easier, and extra security measures will ensure your items are kept safe at all times.

The storage units offered by Boscawen Mini-Storage - 146 King Street can satisfy all of your storage needs. Different sizes here range from 25 to 400 square feet. You can go for smaller units if you don't have a lot of items to store, while choosing a larger space is recommended in case you need to store a lot of furniture, bigger items or even vehicles.

The unit size that you should choose obviously depends on how much stuff you need to store. On the one hand, you should think of smaller units (5'x5' or 5'x10') as closets – they can be used to store chairs, lamps, moving boxes and sports equipment, along with smaller pieces of furniture, books and documents.

On the other hand, the 10'x10' and 10'x15' spaces are good for storing larger items of furniture, bicycles and a larger number of possessions. If you need even more space, then 10'x20' and 10'x30' units can easily accommodate the contents of an entire 3- or 4-bedroom house.

Storage units offered by Boscawen Mini-Storage - 146 King Street come at a variety of prices, starting from $60 per month for typically smaller units. However, larger spaces can set you back up to $329 a month.

We know that when it comes to self storage, there is nothing more important than quickness and accessibility. Drive-up access is an extremely convenient amenity, as you can park your vehicle right next to your unit, making it significantly easier to load and unload the items you will use storage for. However, drive-up storage units tend to be outdoors, so you might consider indoor storage spaces with climate control if you're looking to keep temperature-sensitive items in peak condition.

Yes, you might, depending on what you need to put in storage. Climate-controlled spaces keep temperatures and humidity levels consistent all the time, which means they are perfect for storing sensitive items. Seeing that a whole host of things can be damaged by varying temperatures and excessive moisture, many people choose to rent climate-controlled units for personal items such as documents, photographs, paintings, collectibles, electronics, wooden furniture, antiques and even vehicles. If you're looking to store such items that are valuable to you, consider renting a climate-controlled unit!
